IGN AU writes: "The original Viva Piñata was one of those few games that really divided gamers. Some people hated it. They despised the sugar-coated naming, the oddball character design and the fact that this game was being pushed out at the expense of a new Killer Instinct or then-still-MIA Banjo Kazooie. Then there were people like us, who openly admit to having the emotional maturity of a preschooler and a penchant for candy and gardening. Viva Piñata is a game for guys and girls like us. But, ironically, the target demographic – presumably aged 14 and under, might still not see what all the fuss is about."
