RPG Vault via IGN writes: "Scholars believe the legend of Jason and the Golden Fleece dates from around 1300 BC, slightly before the Trojan War. Since then, it has been re-told in many versions. The most famous may be the one written approximately a millennium later by Apollonius of Rhodes, head of the famed library at Alexandria. As we well might expect of a tale passed down so long, some of the details vary from one account to another. However, the core story is always the same; it's about the hero's perilous sea journey to find and return with the magical skin of a ram.
Rise of the Argonauts is a new interpretation in development at Liquid Entertainment. An action RPG with adventure elements, it casts the player as Jason, King of Iolchis, who sets out aboard his ship, the Argo, to explore the Aegean for the artifact. He'll have storied figures like Hercules, Achilles and Atalanta to fight at his side; their help will be needed to face and vanquish formidable challenges including enemy warriors, savage beasts and daunting mythological creatures. The Olympian gods will be watching, and will assist him if he gains their favor, or hinder him should he draw their displeasure."
