According to the German gaming website, Wunderlampe Square Enix will be selling two of their popular franchises. The question is which of its many franchises will it offer up...
Watch EA buy these franchises and run them into the dirt!
thinking the same thing. Only EA has enough buying power to purchase what-ever they maybe.
but if they are popular franchises and not junk, then MS would do well to have their 1st party studios look into making a purchase in order to gain some traction in the Japanese market.
ms might buy them... if only just for japan, they have plenty of cash.
You know it's true
most of the studios they purchased, although I think they may have used Rare in the wrong capacity. I think saying MS would kill the franchises is a bit strong. EA would definately kill them, but MS has put out some strong stuff. MS is also realizing that in order to sell consoles in Japan, the games have to be what the Japanese like. You can see with games like Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, both funded by MS, that MS is taking a back seat to the developers and is letting them do their thing.
Rare killed its self! There not even Rare anymore. they need to change there name
didn't kill itself.
It rocked on Nintendo.
Leaving Nintendo was the worst thing Rare could have done.
I don't know if I am willing to believe this particular rumor. Mainly because Kingdom Hearts is on the list. Kingdom Hearts has been one Square Enix's best selling franchises in recent years. Second only to Final Fantasy in sales. Chrono and some of the other series that they are not using....okay I can maybe see. If EA bought them...they would destroy them. If Msoft bought them they would contract another developer to make them...suck as Mistwalker....the last thing Msoft needs is to ruin an established Japanese RPG franchise, alienating the few fans they have in japan.
