Wow, I've never even heard of this game. Didn't know Insomniac had this game

Nitrowolf22775d ago

Same I had no idea about this game

Spenok2774d ago

I third this. I had no idea they had this in the works.

littlezizu2774d ago

It's a VR game exclusive for rift. low budget title.

migh_and_highty2775d ago

That sucks for anyone who paid the full price, can't imagine many would pay more for this than Ratchet and clank

conanlifts2774d ago

6 free games for those that bought it full price is okay.

nitus102774d ago (Edited 2774d ago )

Actually, on the Playstation store Ratchet and Clank has dropped by over 50% in price as are some other games although I suggest you check them out since what I like may not be to your liking.

Must hold back, I just purchased The Old Hunters DLC for 70% off the price since I am a PS+ member. I actually got smashed when I entered the new area. Sigh! time to "git gud" again. 😉 (Dying and loving it)

BTW. If you purchase the Old Hunters DLC you must you first defeat the boss of the Grand Cathedral, Vicar Amelia and the Messengers will give you the "Eye of a Blood-drunk Hunter" back at Hunter's Dream. You will also be told how to enter the new area. Oh! the item name gives you a pretty good hint on what to expect.

when did the Old Hunters DLC go on sale? I must have missed it.

MasterCornholio2775d ago

Had no idea they even made this.......

bunt-custardly2775d ago (Edited 2775d ago )

The link is broken due to the site updating apparently. In case you all missed it but this is some crazy stuff either a PR stunt or the best thing to happen in gaming for a long time. Basically anyone who paid full price for the game gets to keep it and then gets $200 worth of free games including,The Climb, Chronos, Edge of Nowhere etc. So the price went from $49.99 down to $9.99 in the launch week.

I smell PR bull personally. It's one thing to discount the game to say $29.99 after low sales or people moaning that $49.99 is too high but to unnecessarily include it in the sale right down to $9.99 is madness and unheard of. Being in the sale itself is madness but I could live with that if the price had 50% off but it's not, it's more than that. Either shows no confidence in the game or Oculus has heavily subsidised Insomniac or the sales were so rubbish they panicked and reduced the price to silly levels to gain some exposure and presence for the game. Once the sale is over it goes back to $29.99.

Mad story.

MasterCornholio2775d ago

Thanks for clarifying what happened. I was a bit confused about the update thing.

NotanotherReboot2775d ago

Oh damn. This could mean bad things for Spiderman on PS4 if they go bankrupt because of this. I was looking forward to that game to, so it will suck big time if they have to cancel it.

RememberThe3572775d ago

Haha what? Sony and Marvel are bankrolling Spider-Man. Insomniac is not going to have money problems for a while. No matter how many flops it puts out in the meantime.

rainslacker2774d ago

Insomniac is big enough to weather a flop or two. They aren't some po-dunk studio whose lifeblood depends on a single success, and they have quite a few sources of revenue beyond games.

In any case, Sony is bank rolling Spider-man, so I'd imagine they have the money they need to operate on that for the duration of the project.

Comparing this to spiderman shows how dumb your comment sound. Spiderman PS4 is biggest title in history of studios and they entire studio and plus a bunch of new hire are working on it.

What? There are truly some super levels of delusion going on on this site.

Feral Rites Review - Fun but Uninspired VR Brawling - CramGaming

Insomniac games released its open world action brawling game for the Oculus Rift and with it a whole host of issues as you play as Kai the jungle warrior. With its human and beast form gameplay how well does it stack up for VR gaming. Is it worth a punt now that the price has been reduced from $49.99 to $29.99 ($9.99 in the sale).

the camera is god awful, looks fun though.

maybelovehate2775d ago

In VR having the head as a static camera actually is nice. It keeps the sickness down while still being pretty cool. Chronos which is the only really good VR game uses this technique too.
