Insomniac Games released their sprawling jungle themed fighting game Feral Rites on the Oculus Rift today ($49.99) which allows you to take control of a male or female combatant and let rip against a slew of nasty natives to avenge your father’s death.
Kotaku:
"Happy fall, readers! The weather’s getting colder, which means it’s the perfect time to curl up inside and play video games. Here’s all the new games the Kotaku staff enjoyed in September."
Feral Rite by Insomniac has seen its price drop from $49.99 to a current on sale price of $9.99
That sucks for anyone who paid the full price, can't imagine many would pay more for this than Ratchet and clank
The link is broken due to the site updating apparently. In case you all missed it but this is some crazy stuff either a PR stunt or the best thing to happen in gaming for a long time. Basically anyone who paid full price for the game gets to keep it and then gets $200 worth of free games including,The Climb, Chronos, Edge of Nowhere etc. So the price went from $49.99 down to $9.99 in the launch week.
I smell PR bull personally. It's one thing to discount the game to say $29.99 after low sales or people moaning that $49.99 is too high but to unnecessarily include it in the sale right down to $9.99 is madness and unheard of. Being in the sale itself is madness but I could live with that if the price had 50% off but it's not, it's more than that. Either shows no confidence in the game or Oculus has heavily subsidised Insomniac or the sales were so rubbish they panicked and reduced the price to silly levels to gain some exposure and presence for the game. Once the sale is over it goes back to $29.99.
Mad story.
Oh damn. This could mean bad things for Spiderman on PS4 if they go bankrupt because of this. I was looking forward to that game to, so it will suck big time if they have to cancel it.
Insomniac games released its open world action brawling game for the Oculus Rift and with it a whole host of issues as you play as Kai the jungle warrior. With its human and beast form gameplay how well does it stack up for VR gaming. Is it worth a punt now that the price has been reduced from $49.99 to $29.99 ($9.99 in the sale).
VR 3rd person/isometric brawler.... Whaaaat?
