Spore, the next big thing from Will Wright and Maxis, ends up being something of a digital toy box despite its attempt to provide a more traditional and focused gameplay experience. Nagging issues of uneven difficulty and control headaches prevent it from being a truly unified and enjoyable game. However, there are so many aspects to the game that players are bound to find at least one they love – and nothing beats playing with a great toy."
