Exploring why the remastered Duke Nukem title doesn't fill me with confidence we're getting more from the franchise.
Palworld is a runaway success for developer Pocketpair, but creator Takuro Mizobe isn't looking to make triple-A Xbox games anytime soon.
Embark Studios reveals to The Loadout how The Finals Season 2 takes the acclaimed FPS game’s stylish cosmetics to even greater heights.

Other nominees include games like SimCity & Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.
There are some good nominees in this list that are deserving to be inducted also, but I feel Metroid has had the most impact on the industry out of all of these. Look how Metroid influenced the evolution of the Castlevania games, and the "Metroidvania" subgenre of games have become a prevailing force in gaming today. Especially now, Metroidvanias are bigger than ever.
I can very much see Resident Evil being added later too, bc it really did popularize and define the survival horror genre. I would say that one is next in line.
If any Metroid game should get the honor it should be Super Metroid , it's perfection in my eyes . 30 years later and I still feel it's the most epic shit ever .
The GBA remake deserves it or Super Metroid, the original was a very sloppy and rushed game programmed in 3 months and it shows.
If you've never played the remake, it's absolutely a must play, fixes basically every flaw in the game. Check out ExoParadigmGamer's comparison video.
it can if you give it to the right dev. just like literally any other franchise.
no... not with gearbox at the helm it cant... they only thing that studio is capable of providing thats good is borderlands ... sorry just the sad truth.. without Blands gearbox would just be another shady, shyte game dev that no one knows about :/
As stated a good developer with the right people and the right publisher can see a wonderful game be made. The Duke could never be what he once was and I think exploring that premise with the idea of getting old and being forgotten would be a solid start for me. Gearbox however is not up to this task--never will be up to this task. I'm not worried about the idea of Duke so much as I am it being owned by Gearbox.
Bulletstorm was kind of the descendant of Duke Nukem and Borderlands, and added gravity bending thing. It was awesome, but it failed. So I do think a proper sequel to Duke Nukem, new improved graphics, same sick humor is possible, but its fail probability is high. They would need to add to the concept big time, but MP would be brutal. Wolfenstein did it and so did Doom.
If given to the right person that can balance fun and crude humor, sure. But on the other hand, even if they balanced everything right I don't think nows the time with all the sensitivity that's around. I truly think someone would not give it a chance because of the crudeness nowadays.
