Im so confused, the only dlc released was emotes and skins, would they really re-release just for that?

Nitrowolf22803d ago

I doubt it. I'm sure there's more to it than just that, otherwise that is just ridiculous

gameseveryday2803d ago (Edited 2803d ago )

The big thing is that if this is true, then the date will coincide with this:

https://www.thenation.com/a...

"Negotiate disarmament"

and keyword is "Peace"

And Peace is the name of the alleged Chapter 3.

I am not saying that this will have Chapter 3 (at best it will have Ep 51) but this is an amazing coincidence if true.

Malphite2803d ago

@Rashid: "Disarmament -> Peace -> Chapter 3 -> 3 -> Half Life 3 confirmed"

I bet it's just TPP + GZ.

What companies release the same software lots of times many times a company back in the day would release a reprint of a game with specific fixes

Consider this if you know you made a mistake on the game, why would you continue to reprint the same mistake on new versions?

Many get reprints and I think people don't really realize it I seriously think Gamers think that the day a game releases they shut down the factory that they're printing the game on and blow it up lol.

if you go to Walmart or GameStop and you look at the games that released the last year chances are you're looking at a version that might have been printed a few months ago that likely might have some of the updates already on the disc in fact if you look at some of the games from last year you could even see the awards they won printed on the new box art.

What you have to remember is the point of business is to make money you don't have to convince a company to make money , making money is not an excuse, it is the purpose of the business.

Don't try to find some sort of rationality or deep emotional narrative to why a game is getting a reprint.......money. that's it.

Did you really think there was another reason why something like this would even happen?

With the hit Konami took I would be shocked if they didn't release some version with all the awards it won and its post-launch content etc.

No matter how small it was.

My only guess is it's going to be all the multiplayer post-launch stuff, ground Zeroes , new packaging etc.

Don't think about it like a person finding a reason to release it , think about it like a company looking to make money. you only get lost in questioning its existence the second you're out of the mindset of a businessman.

Companies do not look to release products for a reason other than money... that kind of defeats the entire purpose of them even being a business.

NarooN2803d ago

Did they even release any real DLC for this game? How and in what way can this even be a definitive edition?

Batzi2803d ago

GZ + TPP. GZ will probably be included as an episode pre-Hospital episode. Now regarding new content, there might be new content. Episode 51 being a priority for Konami.

If this actually has Chapter 3 I will put my stance towards FucKonami from "I really hate you, but it's because I once loved you" to "I once really hated you, but now I will legitimately fund people's attempt to fucking assasinate your employees who thought that this was a good idea".
This is not even a threat, this is just what people come to after a few years of constantly watching the company, which gave you the experiences that changed your entire life plunge to such absolute low.
Burn, please. Burn and die, I beg you.

OldGuyStillGaming2803d ago

I'm glad you got that out of your system

You should be feeling much better now

sdcard4gb2803d ago (Edited 2803d ago )

Nope. MGSV is still piece of shit MGS game, nobody's gonna return me the money I spent on it as my birthday gift, as well as time spent doing the same thing again and again and hoping that it will somehow bring me satisfaction. Also, nobody's going to properly revive OR finally kill Silent Hill off for good, so that I can be at ease.

So no, I don't feel better one fucking bit. Damage is still done and it seems that more is incoming. And nobody's gonna pay for it.

Also, no, your smartass sarcastic comment is not appreciated. You are free to fuck off.

extermin8or2802d ago

Know the saying "insanity is doing the exact same thing expecting a totally different out outcome without a reason for there to be any difference" well.... Mgs5 chapter 2 drove me almost insane.

N4g Consolers are available 24/7 for these type of situations. Google the info if you really need help!

EmperorDalek2802d ago

That wouldn't be entirely fair, considering there's a good argument why Kojima was in the wrong for the whole situation. Just to recap: he went way over budget, then took such a long time to make something that was delayed multiple times, then still wasn't anywhere near finished in the end.

It was a logical business decision to fire him, when you leave the bias behind. It could have been handled way better, but still.

MGSV wasn't even that bad. The story sucked but it had the best gameplay in the series, and some of the best in a game. The problem was that it got dragged out and repetitive, but I wasn't worth assassinating people over.

I wish Silent Hills was still happening, but who knows how long that was going to take? 4-5 years for MGSV to be quite some time from completion... With how Kojima was going, it quite possibly would have been the same.

Greedsin2803d ago

Unless their just releasing the game to Nintendo's NX console later I really don't see the point of this honestly.

Number-Nine2803d ago

fuck that pile of shit. i can't believe that was the last MGS game

OldGuyStillGaming2803d ago

IGN 10/10

Definitive edition 11/10
An absolute brilliant masterpiece

scark922803d ago (Edited 2803d ago )

Game was not bad, but terribly unfinished, but as a MGS game maybe

_-EDMIX-_2802d ago

Define finished? By default it is the longest Metal Gear Solid game that has ever been created.....

scark922802d ago

@_-EDMIX-_ Storywise it was unfinished. It is clear once you play, the game leaves a lot of questions unanswered.

It is expected to be a long game due to its Open World nature.

Now we'll have to see how much the Master Collection will add to those numbers.

Number1TailzFan169d ago

Too bad it was a lazy release. They could've updated the visuals and everything. Missed opportunity.

Stanjara169d ago

...and yet, they couldn't give more respect and effort into the collection.
What a terrible company.

Minute Man 721169d ago (Edited 169d ago )

Are they counting every game?

Edit: they did

Nyxus169d ago

Yes, these are total lifetime sales of the entire series.

ApocalypseShadow169d ago

.... mostly with the help of PlayStation.

Yea I don’t get why they’re allowing old reviews to be posted here. Someone did one on Soul Reaver and I got so excited thinking there was some stealth release of an HD Remaster, but no… it’s just someone who had a slow day posted an old review…

Cacabunga185d ago

I liked the game but for me it felt somehow like a military simulator rather than a proper MGS.. i got bored of that

micdagoat19185d ago

I do wish they would remaster all the soul reavers

micdagoat19185d ago

it was done this morning though

goldwyncq185d ago

The author was in a coma for 9 years and didn't get to play the game when it released.

Chocoburger185d ago

This review arrived just in time for launch. Perfect timing!

RupeeHoarder185d ago

Amazing how bad this game looks already. We keep acting like this gen doesn't feel like an update but I think we're starting to see it.

YourMommySpoils185d ago

Looks better than Starfield, Cyberpunk and most recent games out. Still fine.

RupeeHoarder185d ago

It most certainly does not lol.

andy85185d ago

Have you player Cyberpunk since the first day? It's absolutely stunning now

1nsomniac185d ago

One of the worst games ever made. Absolute overhyped trash!

Snowb420185d ago

The gameplay was great. It was the tacked on open world and repetitive missions that messed the game up.

Shane Kim185d ago

The game started really strong in that hospital, but after a couple of hours I wondered if it was even an mgs game I was playing.

KyRo184d ago

The hospital section was the only bit that felt like a MGS game.

MGS4 was the ending for me. I totally ignore the fact 5 exists. It didn't need to exist tbh
