Pokémon Go might be the latest craze, but for those looking to dive deeper into the series MMOGames provides a list of the top 5 old Pokémon Games to try out.
Honestly, the only generation anyone really needs to play is the second generation. Silver, Gold, and Crystal blew my mind then, and it does now. I remember getting that little demo CD from a blockbuster. All it did was take me to the website. But the moment I saw that you could get on a train, I was sold. It blew my mind. And then, obviously, the game happened, and I was treated to one of the best games ever made. You could breed pokemon, pokemon could now hold items, they also could grow to love you (attachment rating), there was a day and night cycle, the new pokemon were as good if not better than the first generation (cyndiquil, c'mon guys!), and, oh yeah, *spoiler alert*, YOU COULD PLAY THROUGH KANTO ALL OVER AGAIN WITH A NEW STORY, GYM BATTLES, and an EPIC BATTLE WITH RED FROM THE FIRST GAME ALL AFTER YOU FINISHED THE 50 HOUR JHOTO REGION FIRST. For this reason I can't take any of the other games that came after these three seriously. NOT ONE SINGLE POKEMON GAME AFTER SILVER GOLD AND CRYSTAL CAME CLOSE TO OFFERING THE SAME DEPTH AND AMOUNT OF CONTENT AS THIS ONE. AND I EVEN HAVEN"T GOTTEN INTO THE MUSIC AND THE CULTURE THAT THIS GAME WAS STEEPED IN. THIS GAME HAD HEART AND SOUL. ONE OF THE BEST DAMN GAMES EVER MADE, and in my opinion, THE ONLY POKEMON YOU NEED TO PLAY NOW AND FOREVER.
