J Station X: Gay visual novel and dating sim Eldet raises 440% of its crowdfunding goal, with developer Marccus citing the fact the gamers want "genuine representation."
Joanna Mueller writes: "It can be tempting to give-in and cater to the demands of loyal fans, but Eldet looks steadfast in its mission to focus on story over explicit material."
Cliqist looks at the case of gay visual novel Eldet, and the case it makes for the value of diversity in video games and gaming culture.

Joanna Mueller writes: "Yes, it is possible to play Eldet without romancing anyone. The queer themes are present, but they are not themselves the story."
Not particularly interested in the game, but cool to see how they're handling the subject matter.
Here before the hordes of 'real gamers' and 'pandering developer' protestors arrive to say, good work Eldet. You do what you want to do, and do it well.
