CheatCC says: "Rock Blast isn't a decent game for its originality - it has little. It's a good game because it successfully apes the gameplay mechanics of Bust-A-Move, Snood, and other similar titles. Those puzzle games are notoriously addictive, and it's difficult to completely knock a game built on the same solid framework."
Kids need puzzle games, too. Enter Rock Blast, a breezy affair that plays like upside down Puzzle Bobble (Bust-A-Move in the U.S.). It's got bright, colorful graphics, easy stylus controls, and you really have to work to fail a level, making it a good fit for the younger puzzler. If you have pubic hair, though, Rock Blast probably won't get its hooks in you. It's too easy, lacking a real challenge and, therefore, any sense of accomplishment.
The premise here is that the local volcano has erupted and it's up to you to use the rock cannon to prevent lava from flooding your village. You aim the cannon from the top of the screen, as opposed to from the bottom in Puzzle Bobble. The D-pad can be used for aiming, but IGN found the stylus to be more precise. You launch rocks into the rising lava, matching at least three of the same colors to clear the boulders. Typical game modes are offered like puzzle, survival, and time attack.
