ComicsVerse: For those of you who have followed this year’s E3 so far, Project Scorpio, Microsoft’s “new and improved” version of the Xbox 1, is a familiar phrase. Promising 4k visuals, and a whole heap of teraflops, Project Scorpio is, at the very least, a perfect combination of buzzwords.
Gearbox Publishing has revealed new details on the upcoming Gigantic comeback release, including two new maps.
Its multiplayer roll-out has been disastrous, to say the least.
"The Gateshead-based (the UK) indie games publisher Coatsink and Canada-based indie games developer Bunnyhug, are today very happy and proud to announce that their fishing RPG “Moonglow Bay”, is coming to Playstation (PS5 and PS4) and the Nintendo Switch via digital stores on April 11th, 2024" - Jonas Ek, TGG.
Here is the author's conclusion.
"I’m not automatically averse to the “smartphonification” of the console market, but I don’t trust Microsoft and Sony to handle this well. Even if there’s a way to do this right, history has told us that the industry will almost certainly get it wrong. Until we get some clear information on their long-term goals, I don’t think we should trust that they have our best interests in mind."
So why singled out Scorpio and MS in the title heading when the piece is about his concerns with BOTH Neo and Scorpio?
I guess leaving only Scorpio in the title will get it to appove faster. It has not failed so far.
It will have been 4 years from the time the Xbox One released (1.31 Tflops), to the time that Xbox Scorpio (6 Tflops) releases. Its the same amount of time between the release of the original Xbox and the Xbox 360. With PS4 Neo on the other hand, it will only have been 3 years between the release of the PS4 (1.84 Tflops) and the PS4 Neo (4 Tflops). The only company that needs to be criticized here is Sony.
