Best Buy offering eleven GH III tracks for ordering a crappy Metallica CD

Destructoid writes, "As part of some kind crazy limited supply promotion, Best Buy will be dishing out "exclusive bonus tracks" for Guitar Hero III for anyone willing to order Metallica's upcoming CD, Death Magnetic. It isn't clear as to what tracks can be downloaded via Best Buy's instructions, but one would assume that a few Metallica tracks would be included with the package."

One question for this guy. Have you heard their new stuff yet? Listen to My Apocolypse and listen to the old skool Metallica we know and love they are thrash again so accept that Metallica has a good album now. Sure its not like their first four, but its something that is thrash and headbanging worthy. Metallica doesnt have to write new music they have enough money to conquer the metal world which they have. They are doing this for the fans, because the music is heaveir trust me I know and have heard.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Metallica, especially a Metallica that is going back to their roots for some inspiration.

I'l be buying this "crappy Metallica CD" and I'll be loving it too.

RainOfTerror3675d ago (Edited 3675d ago )

I've been a Metallica fan since Kill Em All, and honestly, the My Apocolypse track sucks.

It's incoherent, and unlike The Day That Never Comes, Lars uses the high strung snare drum again .. *barf*

No matter what, I'll be buying the new album as well :P

I miss the days of great Metallica music.Back in the days,I thought Metallica sold their souls to the devil to get that good. But its looks like the deal was up the moment they released The Black Album.

At least Megadeth's United Abominations was decent.

cr33ping_death3675d ago

Megadeth lol. god i cant stand Dave Mustaines voice. he forces himself to much. the Black Album is a great cd, compared to anything Megadeth.

InMyOpinion3675d ago (Edited 3675d ago )

Rust in peace rocks =) Dave Mustaines voice is a bit annoying but the riffs make up for it.

The new Metallica songs posted on their website sound like crap. The songs have no finesse at all. Sounds like marketing comes first, songwriting comes second. And Rick Rubins production sounds crap as well. It's flat and has no personality. He should have just copied the sound of the black album.

But why am I complaining? I've got tickets to see At The Gates live tomorrow!

Hububla3675d ago

at least megadeth didnt sell out... they still play the same old primo metal they always did...! i have 6 megadeth cd's and i love every one! i have 1 mettalica CD greatest hits... dave was originally spose to be in metallica anyway... they are both great

TheColbertinator3675d ago

At the Gates? Nice.I'm jealous like a mutha.Have fun.

@Creeping Death

Mustaine has been getting old but the instrumentation of United Abominations was brilliant.Very well produced sound too and I was satisfied with the album at least.Unlike with St. Anger and Garage Inc.

InMyOpinion3675d ago (Edited 3675d ago )

Dave actually was in Metallica when they recorded Kill 'em all. He has some songs on Ride the lightning as well. The chords in Call of Cthulu are the same as in Megadeth's Hangar 18 btw ;)

For me Megadeth became pu$$ies after Countdown to extinction.

Here's some At the gates for those of you who haven't heard them. Pioneers of melodic thrash/death metal.

TheColbertinator3675d ago (Edited 3675d ago )

I did'nt like Countdown to Extinction. For some reason it felt rushed to me.My favorite Megadeth album is always Peace Sells But whos buying. As for Metallica...Kill Em All is my favorite one.

And I'm glad someone remembers Mustaine was in Metallica

I love At the Gates. They have a great drummer and "Blinded by Fear" is a masterpiece

ParanoidMonkey3675d ago

Mustaine wasn't in Metallica when they recorded Kill 'Em All, he was booted out of the band on their way to the New York recording studio where they cut the album.

And Megadeth kick the living hell out of Metallica as far as I'm concerned. :P

InMyOpinion3675d ago (Edited 3675d ago )

My bad, but he did contribute with songs/songwriting on both albums.

caffman3675d ago

they are better than the versions on kill em all! But four horsemen is better anyday than mechanix

TheColbertinator3675d ago

I agree.Mechanix was just butchered compared to the Four Horseman
