Is Windows Vista really driving people to Linux?

IT Wire: "I earned some flak for the review I wrote but many people also agreed with my experience. Those were early days as far as Vista was concerned - since then there has been tons of criticism, some of it pure vitriol.

With each succeeding month, we hear more and more about the scale of the Vista disaster. It is an acute embarrassment for Microsoft which has been forced to continue telling retailers that they can offer people the choice of Windows XP on new computers.

But does that mean that Vista is pushing the adoption of GNU/Linux along? Every version of Windows has initially been a dog - that has never pushed GNU/Linux along, except at the server level."

The story is too old to be commented.

ok. Vista is awful. It needs more ram than any other bloody OS.
Linux can be tough, but you just need to start off with the right distribution. Ubuntu is very user friendly, along with Fedora, but you obviously don't know anything about linux, and you didn't even give it more than 3 tries?

Mac users don't even know what they are doing with the most 'user friendly' os in the world after 25 goes at it.

Linux takes time to get used to, but its like sitting on a gold toliet. Where windows vista is more life astro turf that keeps jamming places you don't want to go, and blue screening when any small problem occurs in the system.

Oh, and for the idiots out there, Mojave is the same thing. And just as bad.
