Final Fantasy XIII Demo May be Sold Seperatly Square-Enix announced at DKS3173 that the Final Fantasy XIII demo will be coming packaged with the Advent Children: Complete blu-ray release in March next year. Unfortunately for everyone outside of Japan, the demo will probably arrive much later than that.

Nomura has told Dengeki though that the Final Fantasy XIII demo may be sold separately some time after Advent Children: Complete's release.

I'm not paying for a demo. I'm already getting FFVII: AC Complete as my first BR-Movie but c'mon, paying for a demo?! Get real. I know some other impatient people might do it, but my money's worth better than just a demo.

Calling it a demo and then charging for it sounds like a lame way to charge for a cut-down game that may have some issues..

It's the complete game and free demos, nothing else.

Overr8ed3675d ago

yea its very stupid but the demo is 3 hours long. I want the AC in high def. =D

Yep Microsoft has really turned Square-Enix crooked

after there partnership with MS them they learned to squaeeze out every penny from its loyal customers. they dotn even care about then anymore, instead of sex they giv them rape . ass rape every now and then

Square Enix dont even provide sony with good sex

watch this animation and youll know why i sed that:

...this is what happens when a demo that's priced 40 euros sells over 1 million; it gives other companies ideas.

same thing happens when you pay for DLC, gamer pics... oh well.

Just though I'd say this before some fanboy starts talking crap.

GT5 Prologue is NOT a demo.

On topic - It's quite ridiculous that they would charge for a demo, why don't they just release it on the PSN for free (and it won't be able to come to XBL cos the development won't have started for the version).

Seperate or Together, I dont care if i have to order A large peperoni pizza with cinnamon bread sticks, I'll do what ever it takes for a playable demo! well almost anything nothing illegal!

sumfood4u3675d ago

OMG it blew me away! both Espers ruled an I love FFXII Esper song! It's Mighty Powerful Spirit song an one of my favorite Final Fantasy songs! I cant even imagine what too be exspected with a 2hour Demo all I can say is Please Bring it an don't make it Limited! I'd be happy to pay $13 dollars for this demo since it is Final Fantasy 13.

This pretty much confirms Square is desperate for money.

This has got to be one of the funniest things I've read all day. Why would they sale a demo separate from what they're supposed to include it with. Makes no sense at all.

Fishy Fingers3675d ago (Edited 3675d ago )

Probably get me hate but I'm honest so....

Right I'm not a huge fan of the movie, neither am I a fan of FF games, in fact FFXIII (& versus) will be my first. Now I was planning to buy the BR mainly for the demo. So if they release them separately I probably wont buy either, just out of principle. But if they release the BR and then perhaps give us "access codes" to the demo which could be later placed on the PSN, that could work for me.

I know this makes no sense, whiling to buy the BR for the demo but not happy to pay for the demo alone. But to me, charging for a demo is wrong, it apposes the aim of a demo, and if adding it to the BR helps improve they're sales fair enough, that's exceptable, but demo on it's own, that doesn't slide with me.

FantasyStar3675d ago (Edited 3675d ago )

But as of last gen, paying for a packaged demo is considered ok. If people want it, they're free to spend money for it. You get more than your moneys' worth that way. For example the Halo 3 MP Beta. People will buy games just for the demos alone and well...that's just business. I don't support it, so I never buy it.

Hell I don't even buy pre-order gags where you pre-order a game and gain entry into a demo. I never saw the logic in buying a game just for the pre-release demo for free (hint hint), shouldn't it be the other way around? You give players a free demo in order to persuade them to buy the full-game.

Paying for demo !!! I am not buying BR either and they can shove their demo up on theirs.
Now, if it was promotion with Iron Man BR or Transformer BR then i wouldn't mind.

Square Enix keep going down in my estimations every single time a piece of news comes out.

Daver3675d ago

same here... they have become like a sh!tty U.S. company
