IGN PAX 2008: Left 4 Dead Xbox 360 Hands-on

IGN writes: "It's always a good day to shoot zombies, but at this point we had played the same PC demo of Left 4 Dead about three thousand times now. Thankfully, Valve took advantage of the Penny-Arcade Expo to finally give us a new level to play, as well as entirely new platform to play it on. That's right, the Xbox 360 version of the game was on display at PAX".

This game is 6-8 hrs long, with bad graphics.

I dont see this game going anywhere.

Lost_My_600_Dollar3705d ago

you are talking about Haze or Liar ????

maybe you are in the wrong section

HipHopGamerShowFan3705d ago

I think your in the wrong section buddy.

Even though i don't agree with HipHopGamerShowFan i have to admit that Lost_My_600_Dollar's argument sucked.

I can mention so many games with short gameplay

Heavenly Sword for example. Or even MGS4 when you cut out all the cutscenes, you have a walkthrough close to 5 hours.

And the graphics, it might not be a Gears of War 2 level of graphics, but hey Resistance 2 also looks like a Resistance 1.5. I guess this game first and foremost is about the 4 player co-op zombie experience.

Hack, the PS3 hasn't even got one game in the Zombie genre, does it? That's a big miss. The 360 already has Dead Rising for the single player fun, now Left 4 Dead on top. I guess a Zombie loving gamer can only go 360 that way.

I love how people disagreed that you loved Valve. Well, I will agree that you love Valve.

I'm looking forward to getting my grubby hands on this game. Zombies + 4-player co-op = love.

happyface3705d ago

Valve needs to support ps3 because that system could use a good shooter this year, 360 already has gears, this is overkill for 360 fans

TheMART3705d ago

Wouldn't be wise, because they probably sell more on the 360.

JOLLY13705d ago

Will it sell more on 360? probably. Would if sell more multi-plat? defilitely. It would be beter for the devs if both the 360 and the ps3 camps got this game.

Maldread3705d ago (Edited 3705d ago )

I must disagree. Gears 2 is a third person shooter with a reliance of taking cover, while L4D is an arcade first person shooter with fast paced run`n gun shooting. It`s not the same thing at all.

PS3 has Resistance 2, while 360 has L4D as an exclusive FPS this year. I would rather have R2, but i think L4D seems like a fun game to play in co-op, so i hope it comes to PS3 eventually. I think it would probably sell better on 360 than PS3 as Mart said, but why shouldn`t they make some money of it ? The longer they wait, the less sales they`ll end up on a PS3 version though. I think more would`ve picked up R2 if it was out this year, but with PS3 sales on the rise, they should`ve done it anyway.

With Bioshock making it`s way to PS3 and Killzone 2 early next year, i think PS3 has the edge for FPS at the moment.
