Microsoft responds to HDMI Xbox 360 images

The images, which come courtesy of Engadget, clearly show the rear panel of an Xbox 360 unit, with one key addition -- an HDMI port. According to the post, the revamped unit will contain much smaller 65 nanometer CPU chips, which may help the unit run cooler and more quietly. The 65 nanometer switch has been known for some time, but the possibility of HDMI support comes as something of a surprise.

Gamepro.com contacted Microsoft representatives, who made the following statement: "We have seen all types of claimed leaked photos like this show up online and as a standard policy we don't comment on speculative items."

Interesting.

Just what i exspected their not going to anounce anything to the public about HDMI untill their good and ready, my info comes from MS employees and game shop managers, one of my buddies that manages at a local GAME CRAZZY told me that he seen it listed but was too exspensive for their store to carry(360 HDMI cable).

I think that this "New" Xbox 360 will not happen, i really don't think there is a need for it anyways.

Like I said in the post below, if you believe them, you're a fool. ;)

We've known for over a year something like this was coming (if you fall for MS's denial of rumors, you're a fool), so there's no reason to be upset by this. It was OBVIOUS that something would need to be done, to better accommodate those who were serious about HD movies and the HD movie Marketplace. When the launch 360 was designed, MS only had IDEAS/PLANS for the HD-DVD add-on, and the download service....but nothing concrete. As long as the "price is right", I have no problem with this either.

hey this would be a nice thing for those people who want HDMI. That'd be cool to have this new model on top of a price cut that their gonna have to make pretty soon.
