The Xbox Backwards Compatible page no longer lists the coming soon section which featured a number of popular titles including Skate 3, The Bioshock series and Call of Duty: Black Ops
They still better give me skate 3
Those bastards better give me skate 4 on frostbite!
If they let go of the BC, it really proves once more that gamers are nothing for them but cash grab.
As soon as their decisions lead to nothing they make a U turn
Abzdinne, how exactly is a free service that cost MS money to implement considered a cash grab???
Those jerks better give me Sonic All Star Racing Transformed!
4 people really don't want skate 4 on frostbite?! You're nuts juniors, you're nuts! EA should get a flogging for their treatment of blackbox.
Wasn't there talk about making changes to the UI and marketplace?
They are not gonna stop BC right before E3 that would be a PR nightmare
might have found an emulation solution that doesn't require work on their part and the entire library will be BC when the summer update comes
@christocolus they've said they have more than one big thing to announce this year and i think adding the entire 360 library would qualify
That would be really cool.
Unless all publishers are on board that is never gonna happen
@Khaotic, right because the original PS3 needed to reach out to every PS1/PS2 game publisher before letting you put your discs in the system.
@notorious it has already been said that a publisher has to agree for a game to be BC. They can't just do whatever they want. Do you even know what you are talking about
@Khaotic, That's because they had to re-compile the game in order to make it work on the Xbox one. If they found some solution that doesn't require re-compilation, then every 360 game should be playable on X1 without publisher approval.
Well it's been nearly 6 months since there announcement... That probably got tired of people asking about them... But that won't stop me from wanting the original Black Ops... Man that was when CoD was good 👌
Lag compensation killed it.
I had very little problems in that game compared to games that came out after it (MW3-BO3)
BlackOps won't happen for two reason's.
The deal Activision has with Sony and the fact that they will want to do a remaster some time next year to bundle with the next COD game.
Probably right, but would be cool
BO sales went up 1,600% on Amazon now that it's BC
Well, so much for it being a game changer hey.
Don't take being a fanboy so serious:-)
Don't let a fanboy hurt your xbot feelings !!!
Says the guy with the user name "XBgamer" ;-)
You must be in heaven just because of this little thing.
Don't cry when your assumption is just some fantasy.
And what assumption would that be?
Amazon reports an increase of 1,600% in BO sales, aka, a game changer, a record.
It what sense is that a game changer? All this tells is that Activision will now cash in on this by probably releasing a few more CODs that was on the 360, will you see MW there? Not likely, is it a system seller? Absolutely not. This was supposed to kill the PS4 and yet the gap just keeps widening. Do you want to see a real game changer and system seller? play U4.
That game sells a small fraction of what BO sells, and I doubt there will be a need to reprint copies in 6 years.
A record has been set indicating a never before seen impact from a 6 year old game, #dealwithit
Have they added Bioshock yet? It is a few months late.
Nope... MS have this crappy habit of adding crappy XBLA and indie titles first that arent even in the top 100 requests list.. Insulting really...
What an assumption and way to go about jumping to wrong conclusions.
As if they spent all that work, time and effort to just ditch it.
The fact Xbox 360 is no longer being made makes bc even more important for Xbox one as there still away to play all those generation before titles..
I don't think you read the article, or you may be replying to others! The post literally just says they removed the coming soon games, nowhere does it say they're stopping the program.
Maybe the new Xbox One has 360 hardware built in so there wouldn't be any need to continue adding titles via emulation, hence the removal. I can see Microsoft using BC as a sale tactic for their new X1 hardware.
They recently announced multi-disc support, I hope they're not giving up...
I guarantee they're not... Red Dead still isn't compatible, but we know they're working on it (they 'accidentally' released it a few months back), plus they've just announced support for multi-disk games, which means titles like Mass Effect 2&3, Lost Odyssey and Max Payne 3 are on their way.
Speaking of stuff that's on it's way, do you have any idea when Akito the Exiled is getting dubbed?
Attack on Titan's been delayed and I need me some quality anime.
Correction... RDR is playable, In early 2016 various people reported playing RDR when it was leaked onto the store just to be removed days later for reason unknown.. The only way many people could play RDR after that was to stay offline seeing MS made the game unplayable again for some weird reason....
Yeah, they've had more than enough time to ensure that the XO 'version' of RDR is the best one available (performance-wise), but I reckon they're holding it back so it (and the Undead Nightmare DLC) can be included as a pre-order bonus for the next Red Dead (which R* are SO CLOSE to announcing)... Similar to the deal with Quantum Break coming with Alan Wake and it's DLC, or Dark Souls 3 with Dark Souls 1 - which I think is a great incentive, with regards to pre-orders.
Also, I hate to have to tell you this, but I'm pretty sure Ned Stark wasn't actually your dad... Might want to start a 'John Targaryen' account while you still can.
Doesn't make sense to stop but MS already have lots of games for it, so, who knows...
If anything, they're just making changes. Don't worry.
Xbots feel abandoned much ???
It should be alright you xboys been thru this before!!
As a owner of both a Xbox One and PS4.. Both companies have let me down more than once in some aspects when it comes to the feature or exclusive department. Face it, MS is doing some things better than Sony, and vice versa. Neither of them are 100% perfect or on the ball when it comes to what customers want from their respected consoles.
Don't try to be a voice of reason when there are so few reasonable gamers left. Buts it's nice to see someone with unbiased views
Watching haters come on a thread they claim to have no interest in and then get proven wrong.
Amazon reports 1,600% increase in BO sales
They can't be backpeddling on this as well surely? The amount of stuff they changed on Xbox One is crazy.. Stick with your guns for once
That was quick
What was quick? How quickly you jumped to conclusions? Yeah no surprise there lol 😂
So taking off the coming soon means they have given up...huh
E3 prediction: every 360 game now BC.
I still need Blue Dragon, Fable Anniversary, Lost Odyssey, and Tales of Vesperia to be backwards compatible.
E3 needs to hurry I'm getting more and more hyped. They have something good cooking.
Duh. The list was never really coming soon.
MS tried to out titles they wanted to be BC. Many of the coming soon still have never came, even when some were listed before BC started. Of course also many of those titles were confirmed by MS, not the devs nor publishers of the titles.
It's like the recent announcement MW2 is coming to BC. I called BS as simply Black Ops was listed as coming soon since before inception. How do they plan to deliver MW2 if they still haven't delivered Black Ops? Then better with the announcement of Infinite Warfare having a MW Remaster how likely is it that title will come to BC?
If the remaster does well Activision will likely stray away from BC on Xbox One. MS no longer has an exclusivity deal with Call of Duty nor Activision. PlayStation has it now. Why would Activision at that point deliver things to MS over the company they actually have an exclusivity deal with and one that has so far been successful?
Even EA seems to be slowly backing away from MS.
Do you have links to prove everything you just stated or are you just grasping at all the crap released from various sites spouting opinion pieces & theories . Cause i don't remember MS every doing such they clearly stated from the get go that games becoming BC would depend on developer /publisher.
"MS no longer has an exclusivity deal with Call of Duty nor Activision" cause that the only game they have and will never produce any other form of game.
"Why would Activision at that point deliver things to MS over the company they actually have an exclusivity deal " cause maybe not everything is guarantee in said deal , giving Activision room to make money from them and their fan base.
"Even EA seems to be slowly backing away from MS." unlikely seeing how EA access is on xbox and how EA is looking to bring it old xbox games to EA access . Don't see them walking away from money .
Don't tell me MS was promising more than they could chew?!
BO sales just jumped 1,600% on Amazon because of BO via BC.
Really doesn't mean anything... Just that they stopped announcing games that have almost been completed. You can still vote... They are doing this so the next Xbox will be able to support all Xbox Games... with the exception of the original Xbox... Imagine buying the XBOX TWO (or whatever they call it) and day one being able to play X1 titles, Xbox 360 titles and the native X2 titles... That would be huge...
BiggerBoss, I have both consoles Doosher
Think they scraped the idea of waiting for a handful before announcing , they are now going to do updates thru Major news or from IGN compatible list page .
Now that the Sony fantards have finished their 10-hour adventure with Indiana Drake, they are back doing what they do best. Trolling real gamers and spewing ignorance with every word they write.
Lol so a change was made to a page and now its all doom 'n' gloom, how sad are some people if thats all they see everytime a company makes a small change to something
I hope this means MS has a bunch of BC titles planned for E3, and Lost Odyssey is one of them.
Some salty Xbox fans in here... you guys act like BC was actually a system seller to begin with. Who cares if it gets cut or not? It wouldn't be the first time, if so. Sony cut it from PS3, MS cut it from 360. It happens. If not, even better.
The one good thing is, both PS4 and Xbox One are forward compatible with the next systems, as they use X86 architecture and that isn't likely to change over the coming generation. So, all the games you have today will be easily played natively on tomorrow's systems, and likely with some sort of enhancements like we're already hearing about with PS4K, etc.
You have to be brain dead if you think they're done supporting backwards compatibility. Go and actually play video games instead of wasting hours writing dumbass comments down below.
i want bully on the list
Well.. If you think about it, MS was practically giving giving those games away, provided you owned the disc to begin with of course. Been I thought.. Wait a Minute, the free win10 upgarade comes to an end in July, does that mean the 360 freebies will too?
Even though a businesses such as Microsoft is not a charity, the people behind it seem to understand the benefit of free samples.

Let's face it the Xbox One is a far better Xbox 360 console than a next gen console it was trying to be. When you have a console maker and all the only thing they have to talk about is their previous console games that they are releasing on the new Next Gen console then they have a real problem at that's exactly what's going on at Microsoft. They may have more than the 3 or 4 new games a year that get released on the X1 but no one would ever know about those games and some are really good but Microsoft will only talk about the DudeBro lineup Halo, Gears, Forza and the BC XB 360 games that anyone can play on a Xbox 360. Kinda sad IMO.
