Today marked the reveal of the next Battlefield game, an ambitious title set in World War I. With over ten Battlefield games released so far, the last numbered entry being Battlefield 4, one might wonder why this newest entry is titled Battlefield 1.
Electronic Arts (EA) CEO Andrew Wilson comments on how a former competitor is now building a Battlefield "for the future."
Jesus man this guy
Everything he’s said about the next Battlefield just screams how tone dead he actually is about the franchise
He seems to be repeating the same mistakes
If making BadCompany 3 is not possible anymore ... Just make a new Battlefield 2 in 2024, ffs !
According to EA boss Andrew Wilson, the next Battlefield game will be a "reimagination as a truly connected ecosystem."
“The launch of Battlefield 2042 did not meet expectations,” EA CEO Andrew Wilson said during the earnings call.
The next Battlefield Game Will Be a “Reimagination as Truly Connected Ecosystem,”
+"Wilson’s statements are right in line with what Wilson shared back in May, where the CEO mentioned how they are not just building a new Battlefield game but a platform to drive live services to come."
Triple AAA live service games are dogshit.
Who TF asked for BF to be an "Ecosystem"? good lord talk about out of touch. I hope it bombs even harder till they get the damn message.
Battlefield has struggled immensely in recent years, and the franchise could use an extended break to rethink strategies to reverse its ill fortunes.
Don't keep head down.
Announce Bad Company 3, spent proper development time on it and don't end up like 2042.
Like I've said in another article what if they want to do WW1 again? Least with 1914 they could have then used 1915 and so on.
Unless they are rebooting it so Battlefield 2 will be about WW2
Wonder if they got Microsofts marketing team to decide on the name
So does this mean the next BF is called Battlefield 2, or...? Like really, how does this work going forward?
Totally stupid reasoning. Guys must take the same drugs as the MS marketing team.
Honestly it could be because of many reasons. Maybe because it's world war 1 is my guess. Kinda suits it
Also because there is technically no Battlefield 1, with the first Battlefield being Battlefield 1942 so this is chronologically first so it makes sense that way. But I am surprised they went with it from a marketing standpoint as its pretty confusing to the average gamer who doesn't know much about the series.
