Hands On with Moira, A Gameboy Experience For the Modern Generation - Cliqist

Josh Griffiths writes: "In many ways, Moira is a Gameboy game for the modern generation. It has the retro aesthetic, the simplistic story, child protagonist, and simplistic action-platforming gameplay. There are a few modern touches however, like the ability to choose the game’s color scheme to fit a pattern of popular Gameboy Color games, and even a Virtual Boy filter if you have a grudge against your eyes."

Moira Returns to Kickstarter with Game Boy Ambitions - Cliqist

Josh Griffiths writes: "Moira is a 2D platformer that combines Mario, specifically Super Mario Bros. 3, and Mega Man at its prime. Need I say more? Yes, because that isn’t enough information for anyone to go on as to what this game is.

The developers are calling this a “Game Boy inspired” game, and you can see those roots shining through, right down to the camera being really zoomed in on the protagonist. It’s a weird thing to point out, sure, but it illustrates how old-school the developers, Spain based Onagro Studios, are going. The original Game Boy wasn't in color, but they've done a good job of emulating the color scheme of the Game Boy Color without making it look artificial."

Their new campaign is much better than the original. Fingers crossed for them.

Moira Will Have Wii U/3DS Stretch Goal

" If we do manage to reach our goal, we’ll have plenty of time to pay our expenses and finish the game by February 2015 or even sooner," said Onagro Studios. "As for stretch goals, we’re aiming for a 3ds/wiiu release. We don’t know how much money we’ll need for this yet, but we’ll surely make it happen!" -- Nintendo Enthusiast.

Moira Previewed | Cliqist

Julie Morley writes: "Möira is inspired by and designed as an old school platformer, much like the games back in the Game Boy's heyday. The staff at Onagro Studios wanted to apply the same concept and style of a traditional Game Boy game to the design but wanted to see where it could go with the advancement of technology we currently have. The possibilities are much broader now."
