I played this over the weekend. Think I'm going to main Bison and Laura.

You recommend picking it up now at $60 or wait a bit? How is the netcode? Thinking hard about this game but can't get over the so many missing mode.

DarkOcelet78d ago

If you are a Street Fighter Hardcore fan, then most definitely get it!

But if you are a Casual then i suggest you wait till some good Single Player content drops.

gangsta_red78d ago

I have it gamefly'd myself and honestly I wouldn't pick it up just yet because of how bare it is and honestly the character selection is not my favorite at the moment.

When Guile, Urien, Balrog and Alex become available and then a spectator mode with a lobby that fits more than two becomes available then I will pick it up (hopefully at a used price.) ;)

I played the game locally for the weekend. I'll get online sometime this week and report back my experiences.

I wonder how much SF4 sold in its first week?

If you only care about multiplayer, get it. If you want a complete package, wait till the story mode and arcade mode are released.

Heavenly King78d ago

everything will be added via patches. The game producer said arcade mode is coming. Everything is free, so I would recommend to go for it. So far the net code for me is good.

Survival is a pain in the a$$ for me though lol.

KentBenMei77d ago

The only modes that matter are online and offline multiplayer unless you're some casual or Trophy hunter. I can't take anyone seriously when they cite lack of modes as a concern. Don't get it because you'll only be disappointed if you aren't in it for the multiplayer, which is what the games are about.

On PC or PS4? Add me, EDMIX. So busy with work right now I didn't get a chance to play much matches.

ShinMaster77d ago (Edited 77d ago )

It doesn't matter. There's crossplay. That's what Fighter IDs are for.

_-EDMIX-_77d ago

Actually forgot about that, saw on the filter you could have PS4 players only, PC players only or both.

ShadowKnight78d ago (Edited 78d ago )

Definitely will hit a million soon. This game will have long legs.

littlezizu78d ago

Good numbers, hopefully as content drops sales crosses millions.

Cdn_Seahawks_Fan78d ago

I honestly wonder how many of the 440k were hardcore versus casual SF fans? Personally, and it's just my opinion, I would definitely waited for a more content rich game, which means added features. That being said, seems like there are a group really enjoying it, and good for them.

Veneno77d ago

Going by the online competition I would say it's mostly the hard core because everyone is good. It wasn't like the SF 4 launch where it was mostly returning fans from sf2 in the 90s and it took time to learn how to play again.

PurpHerbison77d ago

Nah, there are a lot of day 1 beginners out there. Play casual matches.

jholden324978d ago

Well people seem to love trusting them when it comes to slamming games on other consoles for bad sales, but all of a sudden it's not good enough when the game is on your system lol?

Funny enough I recall all the "Bayonetta 2 sold 400k what a flop!" But now 400k is suddenly good? Now B2 is over 1 million sold, so I imagine SFV will get there too. One day.

Sorry couldn't resist, I know it's not you who says this stuff but it really kills me.

shinrock78d ago

It's for the ps4, of course Vg is trusted now!

hells_supernova78d ago

It is all we have to gauge sales. Until NPD etc are released. Granted they are not really that accurate.

Dabigkahuna7678d ago (Edited 78d ago )

Only with one console in particular I won't mention it because when I did the mods shut me down for a few days

Majin-vegeta78d ago

Nope nevwr trust VG no mattee what console.

nitus1077d ago (Edited 77d ago )

Then which site do you recommend we trust for statistics pertaining to games?

There are sites like http://www.statista.com/ https://newzoo.com/insights... and https://www.superdataresear... but you really have to wade through the information to get anything relevant and for most casual gamers they are not willing to do that.

The problem with VGCartz is that they don't do their updates that often with the last update for Global Hardware Sales being the 6th Feb 2016. How accurate that is I don't know although it would very likely be within five percent.
