Thats... actually not bad.

Aloy-Boyfriend2993d ago

Can't help but worry about amount of content in this 6.9 gb pack. Maybe it's just me or the fact that is a fighting game.

DarkOcelet2993d ago

You keep forgetting that this is the size without the story mode that will launch in june.

I think the story mode alone could be 10 gigs.

Rookie_Monster2993d ago (Edited 2993d ago )

@DarkIcelet,

Yup, the story mode will definitely take up a chuck of space. When Killer Instinct Season 2 got the story mode update from last Summer, it went from 6.8gb to 15gb. So I expect SFV will follow a similar size update when the Story mode is made available.

Insomnia_842993d ago

No way! The beta alone was 13.5 GBs!

_-EDMIX-_2992d ago

I'm not sure how much space a fighting game would really take up lol.

I don't think sizes of games in terms of gigs really tell you much about amount of content, its already known how much characters are in the game.

Fighting games usually aren't as large as others. They aren't having to render huge 3D worlds all at once.

GloibinDookie2993d ago

Chun li's hips are 2 gigs alone. NOICE

the game so tiny for a reason the graphics look like ps3 graphics. even ps3 can run this.

@Novacorps Killer Instinct is far from dead and season 3 launches next month. You tried though

thisgamer5032992d ago

"the game so tiny for a reason the graphics look like ps3 graphics. even ps3 can run this."

A fighting game's focus really shouldn't be on graphics anyway. That doesn't mean the game should look like a blocky mess, but I'd honestly be happy with SF4 graphics as long as we have solid framerate, story, and netplay. I think the graphics discussion this generation has gotten ridiculous. I mean, somehow I can still go back and play snes/n64 games and have a blast regardless of the graphics. Maybe it's a rare thought process, but people seem to be so hung up on 1080p vs 900p vs 4k vs 8k vs (whatever comes next) that they forget how to just play a game and enjoy it. You don't need a third party's approval to enjoy a game. Just play and enjoy people. You fanboys make me turn full fanboy every now and then and I have to walk away from my PC in shame more often than I'd like lol

MegaMohsi2993d ago

wow 6.4gb? That's great, I hope games are getting smaller and smaller in size otherwise I need to upgrade from 1tb to 2tb sooner rather than later

SourtreeDing2993d ago

really i had a 500gb since Launch of PS4 ive had no problem with Space...

some games i got... GTA5, Ghosts, CODAW, CODBLOps3, Witcher3,fallout,watchdogs,fif a15,16 NBA2k15, UFC, diblo3, bloodborne,Dyinglight..

honestly i just delte games i got bored of and if i need to play them again i just download it again over night or thru out the day .. never been a problem for mee

MegaMohsi2993d ago

lately for me, arkham knight with all dlc takes up 78gb, GTA V, the Witcher 3, fallout 4 and MGS V all take up a ton of space. I have a crazy backlog of games I need to finish so I have to keep them installed. Most of them are also digital purchases and I'd rather keep them installed rather then having to download them again. Physical games I usually delete off if I'm done with it or don't have the time to play yet.

kingPoS2993d ago

There's also ps+ games to account for. Not to mention the multi gig patches that tend to be doled out for the mutiplayer games that require them..

And then there's recording gameplay! Or in my case, realizing that 500gb just.. wasn't enough any more.

I have no regrets purchasing a 2tb for my PS4, not at all.

If you have a fast connection and its not really a hassle, help yourself.

I don't blame you. I don't get the craze of having a whole library of games available when many times most are playing around 3 games or so currently vs 40 lol

My personal opinion..see how long you can go with this set up as I personally don't believe one "needs" such space. Though I have a 1TB, I only got it due to replacing my PS3 drive and not wanting to buy 2 HDDs, I just put my old PS4 HDD in my PS3 and got a 1TB on sale.

I would have still been fine with 500GB. I deleted many PSN Plus games knowing I can just redownload them when I want to and now I just confirm the purchase of the free games and don't download them until I'm actually going to even care to play them.

Apollosupreme2993d ago (Edited 2993d ago )

Or you could do what I do and only keep games on there you're playing or plan to play soon. No point having a large library on a drive when you can just download again later.

nitus102992d ago (Edited 2992d ago )

That is great if you don't have any caps on your Internet use.

Personally I prefer installing off physical media. Even for a 50GB game usually takes less then one hour to fully install although as I have mentioned previously with the PS4 you can be playing within a minute or two.

No matter how fast your internet is you are normally going to be limited by the storage device (ie. Hard Disk) write speed and for a 5400rpm disk that is about 22MB/sec although if you have a solid state disk (approx 540MB/sec read and write) then you are limited to your Internet or BluRay (about 27MB/sec) drive speeds.

It does get more problematic when your patch can be in the order of 17GB (eg. TW3) and that has to be done via the Internet, although this can be done in the background or overnight.

DarkOcelet2993d ago

Dont forget the story Update is coming in June so that will most likely take a big space.

But this is a nice size for the game.

Perjoss2993d ago

Hm story mode, just when I thought I was kinda done with 1 on 1 fighting games. As dumb as the SF story and lore is its one of the main reasons I got into it way back, all the details like how Sagat got his scar and the friendship between Ken and Ryu, I love all that stuff.

XtraTrstrL2993d ago

I hear ya, I was gonna wait and upgrade to a 2TB. Instead I just upgraded to a 1TB SSHD a few days ago, cuz I rather the slightly faster boot-up and very slight possible performance boost of the SSHD. By the time it's about to be filled up, there'll surely be tons of pretty large games I don't touch at all and can easily delete, before feeling the need to go beyond 1TB. Put the PS4 500GB in my 120GB PS3 Slim. So, now I can start getting PS+ games on there again, though I usually only use it as a media player, until PS4's media player supports as much stuff as it.

IamTylerDurden12993d ago

FC Primal is only 12gb on PS4, i think they're finally putting effort into compression.

Rookie_Monster2993d ago

Great news. That means a faster install on my PS4 when I pick it up Day One!

Eonjay2992d ago

Installs on PS4 are almost instantaneous. Never had one more than about 15 to 30 seconds. I don't really think it can get faster.

Side note, it would be interesting to test an SSD to see if it can make the fast PS4 install times even faster.

Articuno762992d ago

That's because those games are installed sequentially, with parts deeper into the game installing later on as you are playing the game.

That model doesn't work as seamlessly for a fighting game where a player might jump into versus and pick any stage and any character (maybe some stages/characters/modes will be locked until the install gets around to them).

DigitalRaptor2993d ago (Edited 2993d ago )

Surprising.

Glad to hear though. Normally games take about 45-60 seconds to install, so this should take about 15 seconds, if my assumptions are correct.

DragonDDark2993d ago

It takes 5 seconds for me... for a 33gb game (Naruto storm.)

Eonjay2992d ago

Yeah I don't think people quite grasp how fast the ps4 installs games.

nitus102992d ago

For the PS4 you can normally play the game within a minute or two when installing from BluRay but the full install takes longer and is dependent on your storage write and the read from your BluRay device, whichever is the slower.

A good rule of thumb is to assume a 25GB/sec write to your hard disk then divide your install size by this and 60 which will give you the time in minutes to complete. As an example it would normally take about 33 to 40 minutes to fully install a 50GB game to your hard disk from your BluRay device.

Even if you had a solid state disk (approx 540MB/sec) the install time from your BluRay (approx 27MB/sec) device would not be that much different although you will notice a significant difference in loading times when playing the game.

For a 6.8GB game to fully install it would take approximately 5 minutes although I would assume you could play within 30 seconds.

Summons752993d ago

Nice, glad to see devs really learning how to compress so every game isn't 50+gb games.

nitus102992d ago (Edited 2992d ago )

The Witcher 3 was a 35GB install, however a 17GB patch (ie. the latest) brought that upto 49GB.

Actually I am not that overly worried about a minimum install size even if it is 50GB. What is annoying is having huge patches when smaller delta patches or updates should be used.

Your your information a deta patch (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... is one or more patches or updates that only apply to the specific parts of the software that need to be changed. This can be a binary or even source code.

Street Fighter 5: Analysing a Tarnished Legacy

Street Fighter 5 launched in 2016, and is widely considered a misstep for the hugely popular franchise. This article explains why that is.

Terry_B111d ago

Every Street Fighter is called a misstep of the series since Street Fighter III..and even the Alpha games were not liked by everyone.

SF V had a miserable start but later it did a lot things actually better than SFIV and SF6.

SF6 is the first SF since SFII Turbo for that I did not buy at launch. And today, around 6 months after its launch I still have no motivation to buy it.

kevco33110d ago

I've had every Street Fighter on launch since SFII on the SNES. SFV is definitely my least played of them all.

SF6 is very good. You should give it a second look.

Terry_B110d ago

Maybe in 2-3 years when there is a version that has characters I care for.

So far there is not one of the new characters I like..and my favourite 4 are not a part of it either. (Bison, Balrog, Sagat and Vega) + the whole hip hop style and the crappy music turned me totally off.

Looking forward a lot to Tekken 8.

Sano24110d ago

SF4 vanilla was loved by most and and not considered a misstep. It wasn't until they went revision crazy that people started turning on Capcom.

Terry_B110d ago

Don't remember the criticques it got for the big hands and feet, the sometimes weird looking faces, the lame boss (Seth) and that so many characters were shotos and yup..the many new versions. Just every SF got its haters no matter how good it was.

Nerdmaster109d ago

It was criticized for the first trailers having an interesting art style with those ink splashes, but the real game had none of that and people felt cheated. And Capcom decided to add some of those effects in the game later because of the backlash. But I don't remember any other big complaints about it.

EvertonFC110d ago

I grew out of fighting games, loved them as a kid but online you just get your ass kicked over and over leaving just the bare bones single player and also having no friends anymore who like fighting games either just makes me not want to buy or play them anymore.

CrimsonWing69110d ago

I dunno, I like Street Fighter 5 quite a bit. 🤷‍♂️

Shiro173109d ago

Sf6 is the best sf since sf4ae lol
