LittleBigPlanet - Hands On

Report from the Edinburgh Interactive Festival, the first chance for the British public to get their hands onto Media Molecule's "devastatingly adorable" LittleBigPlanet.

"LittleBigPlanet seems like a complete package at the moment, with a few quibbles that will hopefully be rectified by the time it's actually released. This game should have widespread appeal, and be one of the few Playstation 3 games that bridges the casual/hardcore divide. LittleBigPlanet may well be the Next Big Thing."

Like I have been saying before, this game is going to be a block buster hit not only sales wise but it will also have great reviews across the board and it will be taking console gaming to the next level of user creativity. This is my most anticipated game this year.

My only worry was they would try and rush this out because they knew it would sell well either way. Thankfully they're taking their time and it should result in a polished experience.

Should be the perfect game for Xmas.

this will probably SELL MORE THAN RPG'S in japan once word gets around

sounds crazy but i will not hesitate to say i told you so

Yes they took there time with this title but hey, like they say quality is better then a rush job. Besides that almost every site around the globe seems to love the game.

Also wanted to point out that I second that jamie foxx and also believe this game will be a block buster hit in japan aswell. Japan loves mario and what better game can u get that takes platforming to a whole nother level then LBP. This game will be, "HUGE."

I believe there is a demographic who won't be interested in this game. I believe this because I am part of this demographic.

While I love the graphics and physics modelling and I really appreciate the user creation side of it, it really doesn't interest me. Call me uncreative, unimaginative or maybe just plain dull but when I play a game I like to switch my brain off a certain extent (not completely though like with a no-brainer action movie) but I don't want to have to create things to play. I have to be creative in my job and that's enough for me.

Now of course, I know don't *have* to create, I can just play the predefined levels or other users levels but one, this is a big part of the game so why would a I buy a game then not use half of it and two, I like to play through a game, I like it to have a plot, a start, middle and end. These are my requirements for gaming and I think you'll agree, little big planet doesn't fit it.

Anyway, I just want to give a perspective of someone who might not buy this game.

i really hope this game is as successful as it deserves to be. ill be one of the first to play when it comes out.

Lionsguard3692d ago

Coolfool, then don't buy it if it's not your thing, You speak as if this is the first game ever to not fit into every demographic.

they must advertise this game everywhere.. because it deserve this hype unlike many Crap titles.

I will buy this game on day one,I love the conecpt from the first time I saw the game (GDC 07) and in my opinion it will ROCK really HARD!

Sackboy FTW!

DaKid3692d ago

I hope they advertise this game, it would be such a shame if they didn't. People need to know.

krakdol3692d ago

Pathetic attempt at trolling. I smell jealousy.

LBP is the most anticipated game now, and it's much much more than a 2D platformer maker : 3D, photorealistic gfx, 50 levels, multi coop, and much much more.

So yeah, you can go away and cry it won't come on crapbox.

Sony Rep3692d ago (Edited 3692d ago )

We here at Sony will have an excellent showing at the Games Convention in Leipzig, even though our competitors had to bow out-- due to lack of compelling software. Little Big Planet will give the PlayStation 3 the push it needs to separate itself from our rivals.

Narrated by Steven Fry? He is amazing in every way. Apart from the little camera issue this game sounds like it could be perfect.

Yes, it really is a good system. Sure, you might find many multiplatform games enjoyable because they feature achievements on the 360, but now that the PS3 has Trophies, many upcoming games will have a reason to continue playing long after the game has been beaten.

At the very least, the system has some of the most compelling, unique exclusive titles of any system this generation.
