GameSpot: Brain Quest Grades 5 & 6 Hands-On

Some of you may associate Brain Quest with fond childhood memories of riding in the back of a minivan, wondering whether or not you're there yet. In order to pass the time, parents liked to give their children educational games like Brain Quest, where it's a deck of cards that have questions pertaining to the subjects that you covered in grade school. Electronic Arts has decided to come up with new brain testing questions and put them on the Nintendo DS so kids can play and learn a thing or two.

At the EA Studio Showcase in Redwood City, GameSpot got some hands-on time with the fifth and sixth grade questions. They are also coming out with Brain Quest Grades 3 & 4.

Brain Training doesn't train your brain

It looks like all of you space-brain people able to do math quickly on your DS are going to have to stop bragging about your genius level IQs. Apparently, Brain Age isn't doing squat for your think box. A research study recently published by scientific smarty-pants journal Nature has revealed that brain-training games cause next to no improvement in your cognitive abilities. Damn you, Science!
