Jason Hill Writes:
"Starting tonight, I'll be going without food and video games for 40 hours to raise money for some of the world's most disadvantaged children.
As previously mentioned on this blog, I was prompted into action after reading many of the negative comments from critics of my push for the introduction of an R18+ games rating in Australia.
I believe an R18+ rating would help protect vulnerable children from inappropriate content, but many opponents suggested gamers are selfish to put their desires to play adult games ahead of the need to protect children. Hopefully we can convince them otherwise.
Just in case my token gesture and the strong social conscience that Australia's gaming community have demonstrated is not enough to convince detractors that gamers are serious about protecting children, today I've also presented 40 reasons why we need an R18+ rating."
