Gamer 2.0 reports:
''There haven't been a lot of casual sports games that have been able to really compete with Nintendo's Wii Sports, that wasn't from Nintendo. That may change once Electronic Arts' Celebrity Sports Showdown hits stores this winter, just in time for the holiday season. It's simple, offers a fair assortment of games to play, and from what we played is pretty fun. We're excited to see that another developer that may be able to offer the same amount of pick-up-and-play enjoyment that we found in Wii Sports.
It's aptly called Celebrity Sports Showdown because the game allows you to select from a host of different music celebrities and professional athletes, including Keith Urban, Avril Lavigne, Fergie, Nelly Furtado, LeAnn Rimes, Sugar Ray Leonard, Kristi Yamaguchi, Paul Pierce, Reggie Bush, and Mia Hamm. We wanted Reggie Bush, but ended up with Fergie despite our protests. We found ourselves going up against an EA representative, who selected Paul Pierce, and two CPUs.''
