Braid: Taking a Hands-On Approach to Indie PR

The most interesting thing about Braid and everything that has happened around it has been in the behaviour of Jonathan Blow himself. Despite the issues in the current business model he has, in himself, acted as the greatest argument for XBLA and similar services. Through publishing his own blog, answering comments and putting the words of the press into context he has shown that developers are, in many ways, the best spokespeople for their industry. His hands-on approach to PR (deliberate or not) has made Braid's launch one of the most informative and intriguing in a long while and shone more light onto the issues facing indie developers than any PR drafted, insincere corporate statement could.
