EB: Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture was released in August, exclusively on PS4 and recreates with photorealistic accuracy the English Shropshire countryside. Devoid of living humans, the player wanders through villages and resorts, piecing together whatever calamity has befallen the residents. By discovering recordings, notes, and the golden, dust-like resonances of people and events, the player learns about the lives and relationships of a handful of people and what might have happened to them. Although it received many glowing reviews, some critics found fault with the game’s pacing, lack of compelling game play, and ambiguous story. Universally praised, however, was Jessica Curry’s music.
