Banjo-Kazooie would actually be a pretty good character. Can't wait to try Cloud's moveset.

Digital_Anomaly1002d ago

Haha, that would be awesome!

Smash on NX will most likely include the widest range of 3rd party characters yet.

When Solid Snake entered SSB, we didn't see any Metal Gear games hit the Wii. When Ryu entered SSB, we didn't see Ultra SFIV ported to Wii U, so I don't see Cloud being in SSB signaling anything in terms of future major games on Nintendo consoles.

Final Fantasy Explorers comes to the 3DS on January 16. I guess technically, we would need FF7 since Cloud is in it, but Explorers is all Nintendo's doing at the moment.

Its not Cloud himself , its a Trance system that makes you transform into specific "customs" that let you have these characters abilities , it has Tifa , Lightning and Cecil customs too

True about Solid Snake, but in Ryu's case, at least Super Street Fighter IV was released for the 3DS (remember, Smash 4 is a 3DS game as well).

Anyway, you're probably right, all the same.

Well Kojima wanted Snake in Melee but they ddn't have time to put him in. Twin Snakes was on Gamecube as well. Snake is really just carried over from Melee cutting room floor.

Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

Ryu and Chun-Li is in it.

Super Street Fighter IV 3D launch game for 3DS.

Metal Gear Solid 3D for 3DS

Nice try though.

When we talk about potential games being made with these characters starring in it. We aren't talking about current on-going system like Wii U or 3DS.

To be fair, the latest Metal Gear and USF games looked like they wouldn't work on the Wii U due to spec differences.

The NX, however, is getting some decent rumors of being powerful enough to easily handle FFVII.

Plus, both Snake and Ryu have had previous games on Nintendo systems, whereas Cloud has only had cameos and the original game was merely planned for the N64 but never came to fruition.

Cloud's inclusion was far more unlikely than either Snake's or Ryu's was, so if you take the stronger ties to Square-Enix that his inclusion signifies, on top of the rumors of the NX having the tech needed to host FFVII...

Well, I'm not saying it's definite, but it's not like we have no reason at all to hope, right?

The reason why Snake was added was because Kojima asked Sakuri for him to be in Melee but the game was finally done so he put in Brawl.

At the time we did get Twin Snakes as a timed exclusive for the GCN not to mention they were 2 games on the NES.

I personally don't want 3rd party characters to overtake the roster because Smash is a celebration of NINTENDO characters and it's fandoms.

Any third party character added should be treated as guest appearances on a late night/sketch comedy show. Fun to have but don't want them to steal the show.
Nintendo has so many other first/second party characters that deserve to be in the roster more

Cloud versus Link

*Falls over*

NukeDaHippies1002d ago

It means there's gonna be ALOT of cloud players.

deafdani1002d ago

That is, until the rage subsides. Same thing happened to Mewtwo, Roy and especially Ryu when they were released.
