Star Wars: Battlefront's Graphics Look Completely Different On Console and PC

GameRevolution: "The current generation consoles might be only two years in age, but they're already starting to show signs of weakness. Fallout 4 was the first big wake up call, with its performance struggling console versions. Now, Star Wars: Battlefront shows the growing disparity between hardware.

Now that Star Wars: Battlefront is available on all platforms, a wealth of screenshots are finding their way online. While on all versions the game has a great artistic style, which is delivered at 60 frames per second, it's impossible to ignore the massive differences between the console and PC version."

high end pcs looking better than £300 console, no shit.

You don't need a high end machine to beat out ps4 and x1,I know because I have an 500$ i3 version Alienware alpha that I compare games on to the Ps4 and It beats it quite easily.Im still running windows 8.1 if I go to 10 again framerates will jump up like crazy but some games won't work, which is why I rolled back.But yeah this Gen you don't have to spend thousands to beat these consoles that are based off PC architecture anyway, just a few hundred and your good as gold

Well bully for you....you do know most people buy consoles because of ease of use of the ecosystem and exclusive games they like, right? Personally I play on pc, ps4, ps3, and 360 currently, but I also own older consoles like the nes, snes, ps2, etc. etc. because I can play games on those consoles I cannot play on my pc. Why is it so hard for some folks to understand this??? Curious.

Also, if you're a pc only player and not playing on multiple platforms, you're missing out on some of the great games of a generation that happen to be console exclusive. There have been several goty winners that were console exclusive, so it just doesn't make sense to be console agnostic if you love games. Makes no sense at all.

what's hilarious is how the forums explode when we find out a game has less resolution on the xbox one than the ps4 yet when the pc clearly shows major differences, not just something like 900p to 720p, all of the sudden the forums go quiet and nobody cares.

@moldybread
Come on now, it's not that difficult to understand. The pc is a different beast entirely, and is not a standardized platform like the consoles are. Ps4 and xbox one will be compared because no matter where in the world you buy one, you get the same performance as the next guy. Not so with pc. There is a great variation in the top end of the pc market and the bottom end, and what those machines are capable of. So it's like comparing apples and oranges.

Not every pc user gets the same experience with every game...experiences vary widely based on your particular setup, whereas all console users everywhere have the exact same experience, so the comparison is easy.

@medman

the point is if performance is a factor then why not invest in the pc? if more people got away from all the marketing surrounding consoles and got into pc gaming then maybe we would see more support for it that really pushes the platform.

And console exclusives should always shine on their respective platforms anyway. Third-party developers don't have time or resources to squeeze the best out of every platform. With PC they don't really have to worry about optimization as much due to modern GPU's having a lot of overhead.

medman970d ago

I don't get the argument....the game looks great regardless of the platform it's available on. These people need to stop. Seriously. They've now taken to complaining about phenomenal looking graphics being slightly less phenomenal looking than other phenomenal looking graphics....unreal.

huge difference... Time to upgrade my GPU I think.

TheNemesis501971d ago

none of this is going to stop the fame from salling more on consoles

Bladesfist971d ago

None of that will stop me from enjoying it on PC :>

Playing this game at 1440p maxed out and it is gorgeous. One of the most immersive game experiences I have had. The sounds and the look are so authentic. Good job Dice. Regardless of what you think of the game, it is definitely quite the technical achievement.
