PS3 is catching up!!! Watch out now!

hahahahahhaha

Wait until they cut the 360's price in September.

MILLIONS IN LAST PLACE.

callahan093326d ago

VGChartz is not exactly the most credible source you know.

-M4verick-3326d ago

They aren't that far off. We will see when NPD numbers arrive.

callahan093326d ago

Those disagreeing with me, you do realize that you're saying VGChartz is THE MOST credible source, yeah? Just checking.

IzKyD13313326d ago

so its okay for the 360 to have shortages for the first 3 months of the year, but when the PS3 has shortages for ONE MONTH, the 360 fanboys like to pretend like the shortages arent even happening and take the sales at face numbers

PimpHandStrong3326d ago

40GB is being taken off the market and getting replaced by a 80GB version

and btw NPD numbers also dont account for every system sold! Sony doesnt even know that number for weeks after the sale

Its the lull b4 the holdiay storm! Sony has found the PS3 they will stick with in the 80GB.

I love when 360 bots get joy out of weekly sales! So funny in a sad sad way

LBP Socom R2 will all move systems

morganfell3326d ago

The 80GB was hitting number 1 and 2 at Amazon...not just in video sales, but over all. The new 360 couldn't get into the top 15 in video products alone. I want to watch the spin on VGChartz trying to explain their faulty guessing...again.

Where's my cookie?

edit:By the way I'm not a fanboy.I'm a troll

GOTY 20073326d ago

Looking good. Hopefully the 360 price-cut coming in September will help even more.

The more people on Xbox Live to have fun with, the better! : )

Breakfast3326d ago

A person who understands the difference between a troll and a fanboy!

....PS3 is in last place.

360: 89,568
PS3: 41,027

lmao

Wii numbers are going to fall next month, maybe even the rest of this month.

jwatt3326d ago

If these numbers are right than the war is really heating up. I don't think Sony has plans for a price cut but if this continues we may see one before the Holiday season. Then again this is VG charts in the past when the ps3 was loosing it was actually winning in NPD.

BaSeBaLlKiD7213326d ago (Edited 3326d ago )

can someone please let me know what day the july NPD will be released? do they release it on same day every month like the 2nd tuesday of the month or something like that because i always google for the release date and it doesnt come up while people know the date... how do they find out the dates???

edit: never mind, i found out on google that it releases every t2nd thursday... so that would mean its coming this thursday...

etownone3326d ago

"I don't think Sony has plans for a price cut but if this continues we may see one before the Holiday season"

ummm... what do you call the 80gig ps3 for $399 in sept then? compared to $599 at launch?
this is a price cut, and a HUGE one. Sony is trying to make it look like a new sku..... but try telling that to the poor saps that bought the 80gig at launch for 600 beans.

Death3326d ago

The "new" 80 gig PS3 is the 40 gig but with a larger HDD. The "real" full-er functional 80 gig was discontinued "due to consumer demand".

etownone3326d ago

no matter how you slice it or Sony tells you how to word it...

Fact is:
at launch the 80gig ps3 was $599
last year it got a price cut bringing it to $499
and in sept the 80gig ps3 will be $399

thats two HUGE price cuts of 100 each in less than two years!!

whether they added (DS3)or took out features (Backwards Comp) is irrelevant in the public's eye, all we know is that the 80gig ps3 will be $399 in sept.

Death3326d ago

The mass market isn't going to jump on the $399 80 gig SKU since the price point is still too high for them. The educated consumers will not be fooled by the repacking of the 40 gig to make it look like the better 80 gig console. The only ones this will affect are the people that were going to buy one for the Holidays already. If you were in the market for a 40 gig you will be pleasantly surprised by the additional storage space at no extra cost. If you were looking for a more feature rich console, you are going to be more than irritated. I understand the whole bait and switch tactic that Sony is using, I just don't get how this is going to be a positive thing for the less informed hardcore fans that are going to be taken in by this tactic. You would think Sony would want to have as much positive word of mouth as possible.

ReBurn3326d ago

Removing features is irrelevant in the public's eye? Not hardly. In many cases Sony is losing new sales to people seeking out used models with B/C. Not to mention that these huge price cuts now have it sitting at the launch price of its main competitor.

At the price of current consoles the PS3 and 360 are still geared toward luxury and hardcore players.

Kleptic3326d ago

etownone...

the new 80gb and the old 80gb are not the same system...you can call that a price cut all you want...but it technically isn't...I think that is what the others meant...the new 80gb is only a 40gb with a bigger HDD...that is signficant to the public's eye...at least any informed potential buyers...

also...there was no 80gb sku at launch (Save Korea's launch), unless you simply meant the 80gb was $599 when it released...which was announced last summer...

Damn, 2:1 over the PS3. Nice. Still it is VGChartz so I will wait for NPD.

When that sept. price drop kicks in things should really heat up.
