GameBump: Siren: Blood Curse Review 2/5

Despite its numerous flaws, however, the Siren series has always been more about the sum of its parts rather than its individual elements. With a number of truly scary moments and competent level and scenario design, the creators are definitely on to something and if they could just step outside of their own safety zone, the Siren series could rise to become something that not just derives from Silent Hill, but easily rivals it.

i have to disagree. this game is totally badass scary and one of the better horror game out there.

id give it a 8.9 overall, and the user reviews (real gamers) speak for them selves ya know. i stopped looking at reviews a long time ago.

your opinion is never wrong but this dude has bad taste lol.

I always look at reviews, but never just from one site. It's good to get a sense of what's good and bad about the game, especially if it's one I'm on the fence about (like Haze, for example). I like to get a sample of how people feel about a game, and go from there. At $60 each I want to know what I'm getting into.

I'd never take trust a review like this, especially from a website I've never heard of. As far as I can tell, Siren has been getting pretty good reviews with complaints about the download and install.

It's getting harder to trust reviews now though. I feel like a lot of highly anticipated titles are being effected by hype. GTA and Halo 3, for example, received 10/10's at some sites, but do have flaws (neither are bad, but they aren't perfect). It's almost like the writers are afraid they'll alienate some of their viewers by disgracing the high profile games people are looking forward to.

This is really a 4/5 game. There is a demo though so try that before looking toward reviews like this.
