Endsights writes: Two of Microsoft's key family-friendly titles might be discounted when they ship this Fall. On a number of online retailers, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts and Viva Pinata 2 have been mysteriously priced at $39.99
Never a good sign
I'm pretty sure it is priced at 40$ because there are many awesome games coming out this fall and MS wants gamers to afford these games.
Do you remember 2K sports pricing last generation? Maybe they just want you to play this game and are not looking to break your bank so you will experience it. I was on the fence about Banjo but now (if this article is true) I will most likely pick it up.
Both are headed towards flopsville, hence the Bargain Bin price out the Gate
Can you please explain why they are headed towards "flopsville". Viva Pinata 1 was pretty awesome and the 2nd one looks like a big upgrade to that which is good. Also Banjo Kazooie look unique and it will sell well. Previews for both games are awesomely positive.
Sony did something similar with Patapon (though it really isn't a kid's game), and even Disgaea 3 is coming out at $49.99. Hopefully more and more games will be released at appropriate price points.
Hopefully as the price of game development gradually falls, we would see more affordable games coming out for both systems. How good is that game Patapon?my cousin is bugging me to buy the game for him.
@green Patapon is a great deal for 20 bucks. It is a good game.
Thanks for the info.Well i guess my cousin has you to thank because i will be getting the game for him ASAP..
Great brand new games at a cheap price? Can't say anything bad about that. :)
I was only going to buy Banjo N&B but if this price is accurate then i might as well get both.
You ever play the first Viva? Pretty damn addicting. I bought it for my gf but I probably played it more. :p
I have had some hands on time with Viva Pinata and it was really addictive but Banjo nuts and bolts looks like an even better game, so decided to get that instead. Another thing is that there are to many games coming out from august till the end of the year, so decided to suspend the purchase of some games to spring 2009.Fallout 3 and Viva 2 fell into that both while Gears2,Infinite Undiscovery Too Human, Fable 2,banjo 3,Left 4 Dead and Last remnant would get my money this year. But as i said, if this rumor is true, then i will add Viva 2 to my 08 list.
I'll be getting Too Human, Infinite Undiscovery, Viva Pinata 2, Fable 2 Last Remnant, Fallout 3, Gears of War 2 and Banjo Kazooie.
Pick up if so
What's the bet Aussie gamers get shafted again? My guess $80 per title. :(
Looks like I'll save me 40€. But somehow I have the feeling this will be changed in the near future
It will still cost me £30 in England I reckon but they good for a new release game, if its true then I'm gonna pick up Banjo Kazooie 3.
While I was going to get both games anyway, this will be a major help for my bank this fall. Hope Rare pulls through for us.
The UK also get bent over all the time so we are pretty much in the same boat, only problem is that we have something called VAT (value added tax which is 17.5% added onto the orginal price).
in previous gens this was around the point where games started to drop from 50 down to 40 so it is possible and considering these games are more casual they would like a more appealing price point so again it makes sense we'll have to wait and see but nothing but good can come from a ease on my wallet
If this info is true, than that is awesome. Planned on getting both anyways, but would have to put off a game or two till later, but if they are cheaper than don't hafta put pff any games I want. It could just be a strategy to try and target the casual audience.
