3 Teens Arrested; Say 'Grand Theft Auto' Taught Them About Molotov Cocktails

WSBTV writes: "Fulton County officials said they have arrested three teens and charged them with 57 felony counts in connection with a recent series of car bombings with Molotov cocktails in the city of Milton, north of Atlanta.

The felony charges include arson, criminal damage to property and possession of explosive devices in six vehicle fires between 11 p.m. July 24 and 3 a.m. July 25. Each teen is charged with 19 counts.

Officials said the teens -- ages 15 and 16 -- told authorities they learned "how to do it" from playing the video game 'Grand Theft Auto.'"

This is the new plead insanity trend. Blame it on GTA. I'm gonna commit ritualistic murders and blame it on Viva Pinata.

Megatron083416d ago

Oh yeah GTA is becoming the scape goat for all these little bastards that don't have more than half a brain.

"GTA taught me about assault weapons and shotguns, nevermind the fact of me watching Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone action flicks all throughout my childhood. The videogames are controlling me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

These kids need to get their a**es beaten for being so irresponsible.

mfwahwah3416d ago

"ages 15 and 16"

Yet no one is going to question why their parents bought the game, they'll be too busy crying over GTA.

yesah3416d ago

sumfood4u3416d ago

World is going to change the term Escape Goat to GTA!

even my rabbit knows how to make molotovs and and does not play GTA.

Now people are going to start blaming deaths and crap on video games more than ever, it happened with steroids, it happened with some drugs and now its happening with videogames.

DarkBlade3416d ago (Edited 3416d ago )

That true and how about if they learn that from the movie warriors. lOL Also GTA doesn't show you how to make it so that a lie. I know who's going to be blamed next Youtube it has everything, well almost.

m233416d ago (Edited 3416d ago )

This is getting stupid, all these stupid kids just blame gta for every thing they do.

theusedfake3416d ago (Edited 3416d ago )

i've definitely never heard someone say:
"I got straight A's, thanks GTAIV"

who knows... could happen, right? ;)

mfwahwah3416d ago

Next time I have an opportunity to thank GTA for something I will. I'll be like "GTA taught me how to save puppies and cure cancer!"

BLuKhaos3415d ago (Edited 3415d ago )

I had a friend who would smoke weed everyday and ironically he was a straight A student, sadly on july 18,2006 his life was ended when he was hit in the head by a stray bullet.

Dlacy13g3416d ago

Cause last time I played any of the games it just let me use a molotov. Never once did the game "show" me how to make one.

@Aresnic13....you nailed that one on the head. This is the new insanity plea.

RealityCheck3415d ago

Agreed, you get more details on how to make one from wikipedia and it's been shown in many movies.

Voiceofreason3416d ago

Oh well then they should go to a home and their parents should be charged also. SInce they are all under age and GTA4 is for adults only. Maybe its time we make parents responsible again.
