Final Fantasy XV director points to Zelda as a franchise he’d like to work on

In one of its issues earlier this month, Dengeki PlayStation spoke with a ton of recognized game creators ranging from Keiji Inafune to Tetsuya Nomura. This feature was published to celebrate the magazine’s 600th issue.
One of the developers Dengeki PlayStation reached out to was Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata.

Yup, even FF XV demo is a little disappointing.

Eiyuuou3111d ago (Edited 3111d ago )

Imo the game was still too incomplete to make a demo. Hell, even the combat system wasn't even complete. Why bother making a demo?

Type-0 was awesome though. Not FFIX awesome, but still a great game.

@DiaperFace

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's trash. Thinking THIS is trash just means you haven't seen real trash.

FF XV combat was the only refreshing thing about it to me. I'm not a fan of turn based combat and the action based combat felt all right. It could have been tweaked some, but I am sure they're working on it.

Note: I realize that the best FF games were turn based and don't mean to make anyone angry.

It's funny how most games that are Japan-only and that western gamers have to beg for publishers to bring them here, end up not being very good. I guess publishers know best.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3111d ago

You can work on it. You ain't gonna direct anything. I give you that.

Geobros3111d ago

Tabata is not bad at all but I would prefer Kojima.

MrSwankSinatra3111d ago

Zelda + Kojima??? Uh, no thanks.

HentaiMasterRace3111d ago

We'd have been playing as Link's mailman all along. So no, not Kojima.

HawaiianDreads3111d ago

I say let him try, who knows it could be good. I know his last game he worked on is "meh" and we don't know about FXV as of yet, but maybe the guy is just tired of Final Fantasy and want to try something new. Honestly I just like giving people the benefit of the doubt before writing them off.

Glad that I absolutely can't stand subscription services.

Petebloodyonion7d ago (Edited 7d ago )

I don't recall Sony forcing you to subscribe like nobody forced you to go to Blockbuster to rent games instead of buying them.

SonyStyled7d ago

Pay-per-view was almost cheaper than the cost of gas and rental fee from Blockbuster. Blockbuster doesn’t exist today. Are you being sarcastic?

Final Fantasy XV Review – A Royal Road Trip

Gary Green said: With my fondness for (most) Final Fantasy games and my side goal of finishing off games in my collection with loose ends, a return to Final Fantasy XV seemed inevitable. It also serves as my third Final Fantasy platinum trophy after VII and VIII, a reasonable substitute since Final Fantasy IX is nigh on impossible to master.

Honestly I really changed my mind on Fi with the remaster because they didn't make her interrupt your gameplay every 5 seconds, that drastically changed my views on her

Inverno77d ago

Technically she's in ToTK but obviously can't take any other form than the sword she was made into. Also the companion feature has been done plenty of times in Zelda, I don't think it'll add anything new. If anything should be brought back it should be the Minish.
