The demo arrived, oddly enough, less than 48 hours after word of Activision Blizzard's lack of interest in publishing the game post-Vivendi merger hit the Internets. It's nothing more than a sampler of what is to come, serving up half of game's presumably early library level. And after sampling, then sampling again, we arrived at one conclusion: the loss of a publisher could be the best thing that's ever happened to the game, which was originally intended for a Fall 2008 but clearly needs a considerable amount of additional work.
The half-level we played begins with four members of the Ghostbusters – Ray, Egon, Winston and a hapless equipment guinea pig played by you – arriving at the New York Public Library in response to a call. The front steps are cordoned off when you arrive and a crowd can be heard cheering in the background. One of the two great stone lions situated at each side of the entryway seems to be missing, prompting Egon to take a look at the remaining one."
