The Phantom Pain is definitely the largest and most ambitious game in the Metal Gear Solid series, but it's not necessarily the best. While the gameplay is at an all-time high and the story is what any fan of the series would expect, the game is also too grindy for its own good and runs on for much longer than it needs to. And the cut content leads to some missed opportunities.
Whether it's showcasing damage realistically or simulating fractures and conditions, these games are worth checking out.
