Microsoft missed Tokyo Game Show this year, but the house of Xbox held its own press conference in Tokyo today. The press conference, that DualShockers attended, outlined the strategy of Xbox in Japan for the holidays and beyond.
I can't open the article (stupid work internet filter) but I'm really hoping it's just the Head of Xbox screaming "WHY WON'T YOU LOVE ME?" :P
Hmm, Interesting !
The power of emptyness, japan does not love Microsoft, but I'm glad they keep trying and getting some japanese games on xbox.
Wow, look at all those empty chairs! No wonder most of the presenters look deflated - it must be hard to speak to a a room that is nearly empty. Why didn't Microsoft just do this during TGS? With all the buzz for that and the attendance, surely an event like this would have had more interest? It makes no sense and all that happens is it is reinforced that the Xbox is doing poorly in Japan ('poorly' is an understatement).
I applaud the effort, but I question the games they are promoting. All great games, but very much aimed at a Western market. It's safe to say the Japanese will never embrace the Xbox, but some games that appeal to Japanese gamers would help more in all regions.
