"The Unsung Story fiasco is a prime example of why you should only back developers you trust on Kickstarter."
Wasn't this the one that involved the developers squatting in a property through Airbnb?
If that's true I must LOL
No, it's from the creator of Final Fantasy Tactics and Ogre Tactics. They've pretty much just dragged ass on the project.
I disagree with the idea that you should only Kickstart games that you know of the developer. The reason why is, because they use things like Kickstarter or Indiegogo to become more well known. So you can't say every startup is bad, you just have to decide if it's worth the risk or not. I've always looked at crowdfunding as how investors do, just without the added stake in the company. So instead of shares you get gifts. When you're an investor you take the risk that the product could fail, not get made, but you have to decide if it's worth it or not. Because in the end if it's a success you'll be rewarded.
I only gave a buck I think.
