Mad Max Review | NextPowerUp

Mad Max is the supplemental game alongside the latest blockbuster movie, developed by Avalanche studios (see Just Cause), and curiously published by Warner Bros. They say curiously, because Avalanche hasn't really done much with them recently. It's a stark change from typical approaches to a triple-A title like this, featuring gameplay and content dissimilar to most of Avalanche and Warner Bros. typical stuff. You can see hints of Batman, hints of Just Cause, but at the same time there are clear inspirations from games like Far Cry; car modification options, balloon towers, and a rather broad range of characters. One of these is a bizarre cross between Gollum and the Hunchback of Notre Dame. It's an odd choice of release date going up against Metal Gear Solid, and despite the recent shower of PR, it hasn't really been marketed all that much.
