"Whilst Xeodrifter first made its appearance last year, it’s not until its arrival on Playstation platforms that I’ve even heard of it, let alone play it. I’d been missing out on a real indie gem. I won’t pretend it’s perfect; the lacking variety in boss design and the fake sense of freedom let it down slightly. You can look past all that easily though when you consider that all of Xeodrifter’s pros outweigh the cons; you’ve got the great retro style visuals, enjoyable level designs offering plenty of exploration, robust weapon customisation with plenty of different enemies to kill and one of the best chip tune soundtracks I’ve heard in a long time. You’ll get through the game quite quickly, but it’s something you’ll find yourself visiting time and time again. I think it’s time Renegade Kid get working on a sequel…"
