Since Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain released, one of the most interesting things about the game is that it appears there was more content than anyone could have fathomed.
So basically... "you haven't done everything....you still have to buy our upcoming DLC"
The thing is, I spoke to a player who has done 100% of the game and still they never got this scene. I have a feeling that this is related to FOBs but the ending monologue has story implications. Really confused.
I'm pretty sure that this particular scene is neither an "ending" nor missing from the game, further more you get people to watch this spoilery scene which they will eventually see themselves therefore I'd say your article should be removed.
Fellas, i really dont think its about 100 Percenting the story. Remember Peace Walker real ending where you had to do extra ops 6 times then go to the shooting gallery. It was very hard to find if you didnt see the requirements online. So my guess, this here is the same and maybe we will get an epic final boss fight just like Peace Walker. I didnt get deep with the game but i reckon it has something to do with this... “People will be able to return to Camp Omega in The Phantom Pain,There’s actually something of a big feature involved, which has never been done in the games industry before. I can’t go into detail about it, but I think when you experience it for yourselves you’ll be surprised. It’s something that’s only possible through video games.”
@Rashid I have 100% and a platinum trophy in this game and never saw this cutscene.
Probably have to do some Simon's Quest s*** to get it. I really don't appreciate that kind of game design in a game like MGS.
This is in the game. You have to disarm a nuke to trigger it.
Good lord man, you take the negative road every chance you get. Will there be DLC? Maybe, and I hope so since the game is great. Did this article imply what you got out of it? No, it didn't. Nothing the guy said implies what you "quoted".
How is it negative to think someone as bad as Konami is going to make us pay for more missions to expand on the ending of MGSV. After all the shit they've done and the fact Kojima is gone they are going to milk this as much as they can because it's their last big game which will get as many sales since gamers are still p***** with them. Negative...no More like a realist
Announced micro transactions....i agree this guy is just being a realist. I know some people really love this series, but at this point lets just call it what it is.
@81BX - Read enough of his comments and you'll see the pattern. He gets called out quite often for it.
Don't mind him, he seems to think that everything needs to be free. The glass is never half full to him, its always half empty. I agree with you Mystic, the game is amazing and I want more of it. If it has DLC for the story....yes I will help myself, its a great game. Whats funny, is this is easily the longest MGS to ever release and just jam packed with re-playablity and options. Its Peace Walker times 100 lol. Gaming is a business, Konami isn't just going to have the whole thing planned as 1 big title for $60 as that isn't going to just sell more copies, consider how well its doing now before many of us even found out just how epic in length the game actually was. I'm not sure being longer or adding extra content would just equal more sales. Mind you...I don't even know if the content they have in store for this game is even complete to be released. This whole "they make us pay for more" lol, yes...they make you PAY FOR CONTENT THEY MADE AND WORKED ON! As to why Fox doesn't get this concept is beyond me, you'll see with his post just how entitled he is.
Yeah, because there are plans for DLC right? Totally. Microtransactions confirm this, right? Totally.
How is it negative? His answer : There's content already in the game that many players will never see Your interpretation : DLC milking That's negative. You get called out for that kind of thing a lot here, so there's no need to play dumb.
There was no mention of DLC in the article. As the matter of fact he said there was so much, the players haven't discovered everything. Somehow you interpreted this as DLC.
I see you have't beaten all of Peace Walker. MGS is known to have many different endings and outcomes (ie MGS1, some have Meryl live, some get her killed. Mind you...if your done with MGSV...then your done with MGSV ie the game you received. What ever DLC they offer that continues the story clearly is just that, a continuation if you feel just. For a game that is well over 70 plus hours, I'm fine with it. But after all...I don't own the company or the team, I have no rights over their IP, it is after all their game.
Well i would gladly pay for dlc. Yes the witcher 3 got it right free dlc and mgs5 will give us MGSO I know why you are supporting these guys? Simple i love the game and i think kojima is is the man so i will buy it to play MGS5. Hey dlc sucks and companies need to stop try to hit us up but i will pay for the quality.
Lol foxtrot you silly little dance routine you. on topic- Theres still hope for an epic ending
Your negativity dude; please check it. I wouldn't mind some DLC if it's done correctly. Like a whole other chapter with another region. I know you didn't enjoy the game that much; but some of us did. DLC is not bad if done right. Keep an open mind, if it's not worth it I won't buy.
Lol tell us how you really feel? I don't understand how you have so many bubbles...
You are incredible
There is a guy by name YaeYong he did so many videos of Mgs 5. He had a interview with kojima's PR head and he asked will there be dlc And ge simply said NO
This whole thing sounds lik what happened with Destiny -_-/.
Don't compare this to Destiny, Konami didn't cut 90% of the story.
No, just 50% of it.
How do you even know if it's 50%. Do you not realize there's more game in this game then there is with 90% of today's new releases. You guys are pathetic. Cry babies and it's obvious N4G is riddled with entitled jobless children.
??? LMFAO! @Nvos- yes..because MGSV was suppose to be 120 hours long..... like the others /s
Kingdom of the Flies (The more "Satisfying" ending of the game would like a conversation with you.
Thats nice....that still doesn't suggest it was ever made to be longer then it currently is a product.
regardless of how the story is or finishes im having a blast in it.
Yeah gameplay is absolutely great. (Minor item/costume spoiler ahead) Replayed Skulls boss fights and developed all the abilities for the Skulls suit. Dedicated one loadout for it and been doing side ops with it. It's great to bring fear to a base in a mist cloud while using that stone armor ability. Enemies crying HQ for back up while i'm ripping everyone with sawed-off shotgun with beanbags. And the best thing is that i can switch to my trusty sneaking suit for a main mission and use tranq. guns. Changing gameplay pacing to something completely differend.
Yes so many ways to change things up. The buddies all change the game in various ways, except for the horse I guess, but it's fun to try new combos of buddies and items, or go in with no buddy and as few items as possible to make things tougher for yourself. Great game.
@mystic have you tried going for that hidden bonus during a mission yet?
So if this is connected to the FOB's then the servers need to work first...
Been working fine for me, then again I have to deal with cheaters since there's no system in place to ban them yet on the pc.
Oooo very ominous. Well if there is more to the gamr I'm excited, if there is some dlc, whether it be story content or weapons/uniforms/etc I'd be fine with that too. Those dissapointed are forgetting how massive this game is. Just completely the story that's included takes considerably longer than most average games.
That's so annoying. I hate working for the story. Same thing with batman and its multiple endings. I just want to see one story told just like every metal gear game (besides PW) and enjoy the story. Instead you need to make decisions on what scenes you'll watch and work for a actual cutscene to be seen. Best metal gear as far as gameplay. Worked metal gear solid as far as story is portrayed. Very disappointed with the story/" boss fights".
I don't mind multiple endings at all. I hate it when people say there's a "true" ending. Whatever ending I get is mine and it's just as true. Metal Gear Solid games have always had things in them that some players will never see.
I loved the bosses. Just wish there were a couple more.
Yeah both of 'em. I mean seriously, there was the man on fire, Sahelanthrowatchamacallit Gear and...? Quiet? Was that supposed to be a boss fight? So 2, maybe 3 boss fights? I can't even think of a MGS where there was less than 5 amazing boss fights. Until now...
And Eli! That was my favorite boss fight in the game. And, from my perspective there was two Sahoenathropus fights. So 5 encounters. That's still behind MGS2s 6 (the fewest in the series before).
Running away with Huey was not a boss fight. And Eli was a boss fight? What? Oh and you fight him twice, so that will raise your count even higher! I bet you count Decoy Octopus from MGS1 as a boss fight too. /s MGS1, 2, 3, and 4 all had amazing and diverse boss fights that will live on in our memories forever. MGSV had...? I guarantee that in the years to come, lists of the best MGS fights wont even include a single one from TPP.
@ Jerry Meh, suit yourself. I guess I don't see why man on fire is a boss fight and Eli isn't. I do agree that fighting him twice was a strange decision, but the first encounter with him was, to me, the best in the game. I also think Sahelanthropus was the best mech fight, but I digress. I agree that there are many more that are better in the other games, but I think the ones that were in this game stand with the rest of them. I thought all of MGS 4s bosses were pretty meh. None of them come even close to MGS3 though.
Maybe there gonna release more content for this game. So we all play it together to avoid story spoilers maybe ?? I can see dlc coming at some point. Just hope they don't charge us for it 👎
Sounds to me like this game was never meant to release on September 1st. There's so much content apparently missing. I'm guessing Konami put their foot down on a deadline and screwed up everything. Well, so it goes. Still an amazing game.
Yes, 60 to 70 hours just isn't enough, way, way too short, they should have released it next year with more hours for the same price. /s
I'm not complaining. I'm getting a ton of play time out if it. I'm thoroughly enjoying The Phantom Pain. What I'm saying is, despite the size and scale of the game, apparently (and that was the keyword in my original post) a good amount of content was cut.
To what degree does that matter in the longest more content packed title in the series? Cut? Sooo you played it and it was removed? How can it be cut if it was never meant to be given to you for free in the first place? You might as well say every movie sequel is "cut" because someone wrote part of it during the original film. Your merely owed what was promised and they over delivered. This is merely argument of glass half full and folks crying based on content they never even knew existed, now its cut because you know it exist? lol So was all the last MGS titles "cut" and "held back" and not worth it? I mean one could say with a 14 hour MGS game? After 60 plus hours in MGSV, what is "cut"? No MGS game has ever been released with THIS much content to say its some how "cut" as if it was never going to be DLC...then was... OH because we got a 100 hour MGS game before? You sure this isn't an extra? I mean..how do you know something was "cut" as in suppose to be in the final game when ZERO MGS game can reference this game in terms of size and content? So...this game was NOW suppose to be 100 hours with no evidence to support this? So would that mean the last MGS games at less hours much have been some sort of cover up and rip off? Do you not get how strange it is to say something is cut of a game 4x longer then its past entries? How on earth do you know it wasn't made 100% from the start to be an extra? Konami can't afford to just do a 100 hour MGS game of a series that has zero history of doing that ALL for the same price on a game on 5 platforms all on a brand new engine. That is like saying (well remember when you had that buy 1 get one free burger? Oh with your new restaurant your opening up, make that triple burger buy 1 get 3 free bro) do you not get how strange that sounds in terms of business? So if they did a double burger, buy 1 get 1 free, would that not be a better deal? Oh its a bad deal because you "could" be getting more for free? Even despite already getting MORE BY DEFAULT FOR THE SAME PRICE? Bud...I'm sorry but it sounds like pure entitlement. I'm not sure many would be saying its "cut" if this idea of DLC didn't just pop up. What is cut of a 80 hours MGS game? Compared to what? A 17 or so hour of the last ones? This one has more ,but lets complain because we are not getting stuff for free? I mean...are happy with what you got or just made at what they are not giving for free? They still need to run a business you know, that new engine and 5 platform development wasn't cheap.
Replaying a game with more or less the same missions that take place at the same area 50% of the time over a time span of at least 60 hours doesnt make it a complete game... It's called padding numb nuts! Might as well play Ground zeros over and over again and say its a full game too, seeing you can get up to 12 hours out of it, if you replay the same missions over, and over, AND OVER AGAIN!
Miller Gear Solid. That guy never shuts up.
Whats sad is this entitled idea that gamers have with content. Its as if no one has the concept of what an extra is, even from a series that has no history of doing a game this jam packed. MOST MGS clock in around 22, 23 hours or so, lots of that are cut scenes. This MGS has the least cut scenes, more options and easily the longest MGS in terms of gameplay PERIOD to ever release by 3 to 4X that of the previous MGS games. Yet...this assumption by some that something has been "cut" or "removed" or "held back" for DLC is just too funny. Even with the title having zero history of EVER producing this much? Soooo what this means is that most gamers are never content, even with the game being 3x to 4x in terms of gameplay then the previous? lol OOOOOOORRR the idea that they feel they have to pay something to get more makes them salty? I mean....would any of you be feeling this way if you merely never heard that there might be DLC? Is the anger at that their is more that is charged for? Doesn't that sorta mean that if never told its a great game, then if told about DLC now its been "cut"? I mean....a minute ago it was the most jam packed, now all of a sudden its "not complete" or "cut content" or "half a game" LMFAO! Soooo some sound like they are saying this based on being a bit salty at extra content being made for PAY, vs feeling something was cut or missing as your already getting the longest MGS game in history, yet still cry and whine because the company is doing just what it was made to do? MAKE MONEY!? Seriously folks, one really needs to have some sort of understanding of business and gaming. Witcher 3 still has DLC being made for it, would one say Witcher 3 should have never came out yet? OHHHHH Make MORE for free and work more hours for less pay? I mean....Withcer 1 and 2 have zero history of having such long and content packed games, yet your asking for such a thing? Entitled, its all it is.
Actually all the mgs games take considerably less time than what you stated a normal play through can be completed in mgs 1 and 2 in about 4-8 hrs and in mgs 3 about 12 with mgs 4 being may 13 or 14 of course peace walker could take a while
Unless you skipped videos, I'm not sure how anyone played MGS4 in 13 hours..> I sat a friend down one weekend to show them MGS4, our first day was around 14 hours, the next day was around 8 or 9 hours, mind you, it was my 3rd time playing the game. If your not skipping cut scenes, I'm not sure how one gets through MGS4 in such a short time unless your speed running it. Really depends on how anyone really plays it, but I'm pretty sure most are not speed running it their first time. Regardless, still shows just how massive in gameplay MGSV is and that its not the norm.
I 100% agree. The entitlement here is beyond childlike.
Ok apparently to get that scene it has to do with. dismantle X number of players nukes in FOB missions to get the cutscene. alternatively that would mean HOARDING alot can net another ending too. This is what my friend told me since he got them.
Yeah i don't see why everyone is so angry, its really obvious that's how you unlock those scenes, even showing that they've disarmed and have had a nuke. Makes sense why they didn't expect anyone to unlock them so soon.
Meh, who cares, I say BRING ON FALLOUT 4!!!!
If you don't like Metal Gear articles, then you better be dropping hits like De la O or get the f*** off the commode
Savsky, your comments to me mean nothing...Again, I repeat...BRING ON FALLOUT 4...I say what I want, when I want, where I want and to whoever I want!
Ok that's fine if my comments mean nothing and I hope that Fallout 4 is a great game. Move on with your free speech Mr. Patriot.
So basically they're saying many people missed a certain capture the gerenal or rescue the prisoner mission. Seeing that they're so rare and considered a dime in a dozen...
So to get the most hidden scenes and endings you need to only use box in the first two missions, kill the dog during mission 7, put clothes on quiet before mission 40, defeat metal gear with tranq gun and get the platinum trophy. also to trigger 5th ending after this you need to go to ACC menu, click go online - offline - online - offline - online - offline and press R2, L2, R1, R2, L1 and G2. genius...simply genius. Feels like Batman Arkham Knight, do 100% to get best ending bullshit. You should never had to do 110% to get the best ending in any game imo. Never got everything on ME games, but almost did everything and always got a good ending i was hoping for. Going full "do everything, discover everything, dont miss anything" is fucking retarded.
How much game do you feel entitled to when buying a new game at full price? If you said more than MGSV than in my eyes you're a child, a man child, jobless, or a basement dweller. Seriously, can any of you be any more entitled. If you love the game enough to want to finish the story you can a) buy the dlc and be happy about the fact the original content in the game is massive or b) keep your money, like money grubbing pissant you are with your attitudes about dlc and base game content, and waited for the "complete editions" like most games get nowadays c) be happy with the massive game you already got. Check your entitlement, kids. You aren't going to get far in life like that.
Go be careless with your parent's money, child. Complaining and shaping public opinion makes changes, taking whatever you get and being happy about it sounds like something a child incapable of judgement would to to justify their own purchase.
Thing is I earned my money and I'm not a child. I'm 15 hours into it and still not farther than 10% as I'm playing it just like Kojima suggests to plays it. I've played hundreds of games and paid full price for quite a few of them to know that I'm 100% content in the content that was delivered with this purchase. You sound like the child who can't make proper judgement and will start complaining given the chance.
Kojima out thought everyone who wasnt ready to play this game for a long while. The butthurt shows that, the conclusion is given to those who are dedicated to metal gear. Actual fans. Hilarious
where can I see this ending?? the link does not work.
Loving this game so far
Can a PC player just find it in the code and tell us what to do? If not, then it is not in the game and Konami are lying through their teeth.
