Was too much of Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain shown prior to release in trailers and at Gamescom/ E3 considering the game's lack of cinematic content compared to previous entries the series.
I skimmed the article because I'm tired and want to sleep, but I'm guessing what this comes down to is the fact that companies, both for games and movies, can really suck at making trailers. It's like how with most comedy films, the first trailer you see will hold sometimes the only funny parts of the movie. Or trailers that show you clips from the beginning, middle, and end of the movie, basically condensing everything you need to see to a minute and a half. Trailer making is hard work, and I think sometimes people get too eager to show off all the best parts as soon as they can. Sure, out of context, those best parts may not be as good as they could be, but it doesn't change the fact that they lose impact immediately by being given away in a trailer.
I can not disagree that the trailers did include spoilers but damn they were fantastic trailers!
Hell, road to MGS5 was more entertaining than most of the games these days. Trailers like The Phantom Pain (first one) and Red Band were amazing. And after all those awesome trailers came the ridiculous theories that fans pulled from their asses. "These four pixels proof that Big Boss has actualy 4 living clones, and there is dental equipment on the background, so i believe one of the clones is a dentist child genius living in Arizona!".
yet the theories were right about many other things...
Well they were Kojimas trailers, edited by him....you can't blame Konami for that.
@Fox exactly. It's too easy to blame Konami for everything because Kojima never does anything wrong.
Too much was not shown. Too much was cut from the game.
i want chapter 3: peace !!!!! konami you devil. first silent hills now this
Are you guys serious? I felt that MGSV is one of the least spoiled by trailers in the series. Honestly, think about it: what story beats were shown in trailers? I can only think of "We are Diamond Dogs", and that's hardly anything shocking. The Metal Gear Sahelanthropus trailer wasn't even hinting at anything story-related.
they spoiled -the end of chapter 1 -the metal gears full form -a certain child soldiers appearance -all buddies not complaining just saying, also somethings in the trailer i never saw in the game.
im only at 19% and its a struggle to do another mission, such a drag now that its an open world game, i lost intrest in all the time filler with using the ACC or runing acros the map for next mission. worst MGS game ver
the game feels a mess sometimes, but the gameplay is worth it. and ACC is a drag i know.
I agree all those pointless mission ops that dont have any significance to the story really grinds my gears.
I swear 70% of MGS fans would butcher here own mother if Kojima asked.#GOTEAMKONAMI
i dont even know what kojima and konami are arguing about but i do know that this game gets boring quick, i prefer classic story line mgs like the other ones
