DICE Technical Director Stefan Boberg has confirmed that the Frostbite engine already supports DirectX 12.
Sweet! Looking forward to some awesome games!
Yes! So based on this info most likely Mass Effect 4, Mirror's Edge 2, along with UE4 games like Gears of War 4, and Fable Legends are the DX12 games we know about I think Rise of the Tomb Raider might be using DX12 and I read somewhere that Gears of War Ultimate already uses it but I'm not sure
They already do? Awesome!
They supported Mantle, so I guess they had half of the job already done
Sweet. Hopefully this applies to the XB1 version of the engine too. And common sense says it should.
Isn't a big thing everyone should be excited about, Frostbite "already" supporting DX12. The early they add the support, the more less the chances of it being a complete mess when DX12 actually comes out. So, I think most major engines should already have support for the new API.
UE4 already does also. Looking forward to real world results.
