A look at the upcoming officially-licensed Xbox One Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens Wired Controllers.
Wow, awesome. I think gamers can start a controller collection now!
Could have done without the names plastered on it. A more subtle approach would have looked better.
People dont know these people...
Gotta admit though, these controllers are light years better looking than the PS4 DS4 Darth Vader controller.
Both ugly imo.
Man, These look worse than then Sony Controllers.
troll much lol cmon even the most die hard Sony fanboy will admit the PS4 starwars controller looks ok @ best ..
Damn, Sony need to get their money hats up.
That Captain Phasma is super bad a!!
Evidently aside from being hard wired they are made out of cheap plastic and there is no microphone jack...but they do look nice, considering.
You say evidently yet provide no evidence...
really? No evidence? i wasn't expecting to hold people's hands...It's IN THE ARTICLE and also in the sublinks that the article provides. Evidently some people don't even bother to read the whole article before commenting.
Optimus is right its all in the article. I don't know about the part about the cheap plastic though. Guess we'll find that out when they release. I believe you owe him an apology my good sir.
@cornholio... the controllers are already out. not the designes shown in the article but the previous ones from the same company and most if not all the USER reviews claim they are cheap plastic... http://www.amazon.com/gp/pr...
There is a headphone jack you can clearly see it on the captain phasma controller right below the dpad
i can't believe people are this lazy... here is a question posted to the vendor on amazon.... Q: Can you hook a microphone to the controller? A: no it does not. Matthew C. answered on May 10, 2015 also, user reviews confirm there is no headphone jack.
Checked out some reviews, apparently the controllers are really cheaply made. Shame, especially as it's officially licensed!
the controllers made by MS have been awesome
Yeah my day one survived 100% peggle 2,being dropped in a toilet and being dropped countless times. Only retired it because I'm using my covert forces one!
^^^ I'm sorry dude, but dropping your Day One Edition controller in the toilet is not acceptable.
I'm usually at my chillest when playing Peggle 2. I guess a lot of strain could be put on a controller though if beavers playing guitar solos get you super stoked.
@inmmorals... Funny, you basically said the same thing i did and i got all the disagrees, while people agree with you...i guess i have a few haters. Ahh, n4g...land of fairies, pixies, and gnomes.
Nobody likes you after seeing Age of Extinction...
I think it was actually a few movies before that tbh. Transformers lost me completely at the wrecking ball testicles though.
"dropped in a toilet" Why...how?...was there doo doo in the toilet? Was there pee in the toilet? Did you continue using it? Did you let other people touch it after? So many questions...
Maybe he has a really small apartment?
Toilet had been flushed, I was drunk and talking to a friend on my mic. I pretty much drowned it in disinfectant and left it in rice. Works still, just rarely touch it now p
Didn't know there were reviews out already. I'll check them out. Thanks for the information.
Its not the first time officially licensed controllers have been crappy. Thats why I always buy MS Xbox One controllers same with DS4! Hell with these third parties controllers. Except for fight stick and drive wheels.
That's a long as* name for a controller xD
Anybody notice that these are "Wired" controllers? WTF????
Wireless would be nicer..
No thanks, 3rd party controllers are nowhere near 1st party quality. We already have wired controllers by just taking my 6ft phone cord and plugging it into my wireless controller. Microsoft owns the wireless technology or something is why the the controller is wired.
Nope, the Razer controller is wireless. It's probably because they wanted to cheap out.
Yeah, u r right but I think MS has to license the wireless tech to whatever company wants to make a wireless controller.
They all look pretty cool. Doubt I'll pick one of them up, but I can see a lot of Star Wars fans picking a few of them up.
Officially licensed doesn't mean first party. Just that they are approved for use with the system and guaranteed to work with the system. Just another set of cheaply made third party controllers with a popular theme to sell them.
Not a big fan of the designs tbh.
God I hate 3rd party peripherals, especially some of the hideous modular fans and chargers on the market,I've bought the batterie packs etc just to have them stop working after a few charges, just clunky cashgrabbing garbage, if it ain't official I'm not throwing down my cash.
Nice design but why wired?
Do people still use Wired Controllers? I feel like after Nintendo's Wavebird controller for Gamecube, wired controllers died. If these were wireless, I would definitely think about picking up one.
Wired is good for remote play on pc/tablet
Wired does have its uses, most 'professional' gamers prefer wired because there's less delay or interference (even if it is only minuscule with a wireless.) That's partially why Nintendo brought the gamecube controller back purely for Smash Bros. In other cases, like a computer, I prefer not having to charge my mouse and keyboard batteries if it's a desktop.
Outside of the black controller they all look cheap and tacky. Im sure 8 years olds would enjoy it though.
