Three Speech puts some questions to Ray Maguire, SCE's UK managing director…
Alas, we didn't make it out to E3. So we thought we'd catch up with Sony Computer Entertainment's UK managing director, Ray Maguire, in order to find out what he made of it. This is what he said:
Q: What interesting stuff came out of Sony's press conference at E3, Ray?
Ray Maguire: Jack Tretton, in some detail, showed how the PlayStation franchise is operating on a series of ten-year cycles. He showed the PlayStation operated for ten years, and how the PS2 is still alive and well, albeit in different territories at this point.
The gamble that Ken Kutaragi took with the PlayStation 3 was to put in a high level of technology, so it has been a bit slow to market in some respects, but we're now seeing how people are starting to understand how the technology works.
