Richard Seabrook woke one morning and realised his life wasn't where he wanted it to be. He was 23 years old, he'd graduated from university and he'd taken a job he thought would lead to his dream career in games. But it hadn't quite worked out. He was stuck in the British seaside town of Bournemouth, in quality assurance testing, where months were sprawling ominously into years. "You know what?" he said to himself that day. "I'm sick of this. I'm just going to go for it." He set his sights high: Seabrook wanted to go for a job at Valve.
Given the medium's wild diversity, this primer of the essential video games everyone should try is a good place to start.
I can't fk with this list. They missed on alot of games probably before the writers times. Also I know people loved some portal but I was never a fan.
Tomb Raider 1
Driver 1
Abe’s Odyssey
FF6
King of Fighters 94
Mortal Kombat OG
LINK 2 the past
Street Fighter 2
Resident Evil 1
Infinite but not the first two games? Witcher 3 but not the first two games?? GTA V but not literally any of the games before it??? Portal 2 but not the first? Also if you're going to play Shadow of The Colossus play the remaster and not the remake. Can't say I disagree with the list but my man it's all over the place.
Awesome list! Hot take on Fear (and it's hard af expansion Persaus Mandate!) Bioshock Infinite is stellar, so is the Witcher 3 and you nailed it by having Ocarina of Time. So many fantastic games! Gotta play 'em all! Next one on my list is Prey after I beat Dead Space 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction.
The 2024 Game Anniversaries include some major titles including Half-Life 2, Uncharted 2, and Minecraft.
As part of the title’s 25th anniversary, that long-established glitch has now been resolved.
Been replaying this on my steam deck now that it's been updated with modern controls and is now fully verified. Have to say I'm surprised to see how well it holds up. Was a great game in 1998 and it's still a great game 25 years on.
I have a feeling gabe gets alot of troll mail and has some one else open this stuff up
Interesting story. I hope he makes it. Crazy that he was taught by the guy who made Dear Esther and Everbodys gone to the Rapture.
Damn, I thought this was going to be a happy ending type of story... Hopefully his game is successful as you can clearly tell that he is passionate about making games. I don't think I'd have the mental wherewithal to handle all that pressure.
Everyone has a story to tell. A degree doesn't necessarily mean a happy ending. I'm quite sure there are many people with degrees working at McDonald's because the promised lie was bs. For this watch xfactor.
My brother does not have a degree, but right now he works for Media Molecule.
Everytime I think about how he got there it puts a smile on my face.
If you have a dream go for it, you never know what could happen... but one thing is for sure, if you don't go for it nothing ever will happen. (now I have to go take my own advice)
