BNR: Video game movies have a long and awful history. Sometimes they’re mere advertisements, sometimes they’re mediocre whitewashed versions of classic games and sometimes, they’re just awful.
During the summer of 2015 came the bad video game movie to rule them all and in the theatres blind them: Pixels. Starring Adam Sandler, who hasn’t had a good movie for as long as some people who are reading have been alive, Kevin James, who’s inexplicably cast as the President of the United States, and Peter Dinklage, who should know better than this, Pixels is an abomination of a video game movie. I’m not going into detail- plenty of reviewers have done that already- but all you need to know is that Pixels has no redeeming qualities besides its special effects.
