Neil Druckmann: That's a mocap wrap for Richard McGonagle (Sully) & @EmilyroseLA (Elena)! Can't wait to show off all your hard work.
Love those images. Richard looks just like Sully. He looks like a really good fella in real life. I cant wait to play this beauty. Naughty Dog fan since Crash Bandicoot and will be until i die! Naughty Dog are the best!
Yep, they have been among my favourites since Jak & Daxter.
I really hope you have played Crash because its up there with Jak/Uncharted/TLOU and holds incredibly well even today.
I have. I appreciate the Crash quadrilogy on Playstation but Jak & Daxter was the first game that made me acknowledge Naughty Dog as a power house studio. I have been a fan ever since.
This just got me really pumped to play the Nathan Drake Trilogy in October. Friggin masterpieces.
Looking forward to see Uncharted 4.
I'm going to cry right now. Oh my god, Naughty Dogs you guys are so awesome. I played all ND games since my childhood. I love them soo much.
I don't play online games, but I think I'm going to try the beta just because I can't wait to see Uncharted 4 in action.
The beta is a bonus, the upgrades made to the first 3 are personally worth playing again to experience.
When does the beta start?
Same here, how do you think it'll work? Will it be a single map or will there be multiples, and will they all be taken from environments present in the sp of UC4 or will there be some from the older games? I went through the whole Subway deal to get my hands on UC3 beta just to get a look at some of the new environments but I promptly was screamed at for accidentally killing someone on my team or something so I didn't get to see much. Hopefully this beta will be a cool sneak peek at UC4...love it if they gave us an sp demo as well
I remember the last of us got a single player demo before it released and I played it like 20 times through. I'd really enjoy a little snippet of uncharted 4 before the release in the same fashion as the last of us.
Naughty Dog I just one of those studios that can invoke excitement from something like mocap completion of a character or two. :-)
Obviously those disagrees were people who hit the wrong button, trying to agree with you.
Like Nolan North said even though MoCap performances may be complete, the in game moment to moment character voice over in the booth generally wraps up a few months after the mocap does.
I hope these are in the game more then Sam.....no offence but it is the last game. Our three main characters should be featured the most to give them a proper send off.
Whats wrong with Sam lol? Why not shed some light on the new characters. They could be awesome just like Bill from TLOU.
No offence I'm not criticizing the quality or anything but what they've done with this instalment was a little silly adding in a new character because it's their final game Hell it's not even the fact he's a new character, it's how big of a new character he is with his ties to Drake. The fact he hasn't even mentioned Sam once in the other games means they have a lot to get through in this one game alone. They should have used the characters they have and made one last adventure to give all of them a proper send off Now that we have Sam and the fact he's Drakes "brother" it's obviously going to spend a lot of time on those two especially within levels/cutscenes while Sully and Elena will be on the back burner I would have rather had the two of them going to the island together to throw the last game back to the first when they went on another island to find treasure. Make the game come full circle. Hell throw Charlie and Chole in there aswell. I'd understand if it was a new instalment with no end in sight but the fact it's the last one and even calling it "A Thief's End" I don't think they really should have added such a big character like Sam...Drakes Brother. I'm still hoping it's not his real Brother as that causes a massive plot hole in Uncharted 3 with Marlowe and Drakes talk. Like I said I wouldn't mind if they are bullshitting and there will be more but for now, if we take them by their word, they should have gone for a better story with the characters they already have. Hell Charlie Cutter was in the last game and he hardly had any development
I think the introduction of Sam is a perfect capper for the series if you think about the overarching theme of the entire series. It's been about honor among thieves, blood vs. Water. Drakes family basically abandoned him at a young age (good reason for him to never bring it up in casual conversations throughout the prior installments) so he surrounded himself with a surrogate family in the form of characters like Cutter, Chloe, Elena & Sully. Introducing an actual blood relative will finally prove that his true family are the ones who've been at his side the whole time. I have a feeling that Sam will betray Nate in the game and he will have to fall back on the help of his friends to get out of a sticky situation. At the end of the day we can't be hung up on details of a story we know next to nothing about, doubly so when the storytellers are also responsible for one of the best narrative experiences in all of gaming in the form of TLOU. A little perspective should show that introducing Sam could be a perfect way to end the series on a high note, and really sell the true theme of the franchise. It'd be a little boring & more of the same if they just gave us another game with the same characters doing the same things for one last adventure & just slapped a big "the end" after the credits roll.
You gotta love how this game was originally coming out this year, and they just now finished the motion capture? Can you be serious? Sure this game is coming out holiday 2015. 1 month after all the mo cap is complete. Give me a break.
It's next year, where you getting next month from, the remastered originals are not until Oct this year lol.
This game was announced as coming out this year back before E3. Then they had to change it, because it was obviously announced WAY TOO EARLY.
Shows what I know about Mo-Cap, I would have thought they had this done MONTHS ago. Is it still scheduled for March? Or did it get delayed I didn't hear about it? Then again I guess they could have just been working on every other aspect of the game and just leaving facial animations till last.
Mo cap and voice acting are typically some of the last things done in the development of a game. The majority of the work done on the front end involves character models, game mechanics, environmental design & general story boarding. Games don't truly come together in a fully playable state until the very end. Mo caps can be plugged in at any point down the line. Also I don't think it was ever definitively confirmed for a March release, execs have just targeted a Q1 release. Doesn't really matter if it comes later than March though as the game will be truly special and it deserves a chance to be all it can be, gamers need to be patient or their cries will end up shooting themselves in the foot by receiving a rushed game instead of the likely masterpiece that would otherwise have been delivered.
Makes total sense. ..and I completely Agree.
Elena is cool but I always liked Chloe more. I really hope Chloe gets some screen time in Uncharted 4.. I mean it's not like she died in Uncharted 3. She just stopped appearing so I know she's not dead.
Elena is where the story should focus on her and Nate. That's what made original game so wonderful. The rest of the cast should wrap everything up as well but three games together - they went through a lot together.
