Double the vault space, and no longer beign forced into play lists for bounties.

sactownlawyer9163171d ago

Yah man all in all a pretty good reveal imo. Pretty excited.

ABizzel13171d ago

This was the best thing they could have done, because I absolutely refused to buy this update.

More Vault space was really only needed for weapons, and I'm glad they did that.

The New Exotic weapon and armor upgrades were definitely needed, and something I've been saying for the longest, it's annoying it cost 125 marks, knowing you can only get 200 per week, but I already expected they'd try to stretch this out as long as possible.

It's good to see each NPC will finally have some use, as well as class armor.

This was a good showing, that made me actually think about buying it.....but moreso, because there's nothing really coming out that I want until November.

I forgot about Forza, Metal Gear, and Mario Maker...... Hmm..... Forza and Mario Maker can be gamefly'd.

Okay so I goof'd

September: MGSV,
Gamefly: Forza 6, Mario Maker,

October: Uncharted Collection
Gamefly: Dragon Quest, Halo 5, Assassin's Creed

November: Fallout, Tomb Raider.....
Gamefly: Star Wars, Need for Speed

December:
Gamefly: Rainbow Six, Just Cause 3, Xenoblade

I might get it.

You can hold a maximum of 200 Legendary Mark at any given time but, just like Glimmer, you can earn an infinite amount throughout the week. There is no weekly cap on how many Legendary marks you can earn.

ninsigma3171d ago

I like the consolidation of marks into legendary marks. Do you know what happens if you haven't played the previous two expansions?? I played the original game but not the expansions and they'll be included in the collectors edition. Will the taken king changes take affect while I go through those expansions first??

Cobberwebb3171d ago

They're core game changes so yeah.

FamilyGuy3171d ago

They've added more to the RPG element of the game as well. Everything you equip adds to you stats in some way and has a perk o some kind to it. Setting up the appropriate gear for situations is more in-depth now. Ghost Shells and Class items specifically. Infusion is also a pretty big deal.

The only thing I don't like is that our year one exotics will have to be upgraded into year two versions in order to be effective. They showed a Suros Regime at 160 ATK while regular TTK Legendaries start around the 280 ATK mark.

jhpadilla3171d ago

Awesome!!!!! Getting better and better!

Sevir3171d ago

Very excited to see the game become more of what we wanted as a game experience... Can't wait to go through with my titan and Hunter.

Stapleface3171d ago

Glad our levels are not dropping to 20. 34 from the start on my Titan and Hunter. Will go ahead and make a Warlock to use the boost on. I like most of the changes. I like that Suros Scout rifle, it looks awesome IMO. The quests and bounties look setup nicely. Glad to see new bounties. I like that I can now get the faction gear minus the Crucible gear without being forced into PVP which I'm just not into for this game. But New monarchy, Dead Orbit, and Future War Cult are now open to us PVE only players. Not just engram drops here and there for the gear.

They seem to improve it constantly. Excited to see the culmination of what they learned in Destiny 2 next year. Give us more story and dispose of the crappy light leveling system.

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter331d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood331d ago (Edited 331d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro331d ago (Edited 331d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881331d ago (Edited 331d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell331d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig331d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast331d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername331d ago (Edited 331d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g331d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka331d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai482d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface481d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard479d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
