I want to get a 360 before GeOW2 hits but I want one that is reliable. I"m not a gamblin man so crap shoots aint my thang! I'm really hoping that these are improved.

Don't worry, even if it does break, Msft will replace if for you free of charge. They even pay for the shipping.

Edit: thx sak500. I know I have to improve my english...

True. Thing is, I'm hoping that I dont have to go through that. Me and my cousin were room mates and he's a huge 360 guy and I enjoy it as well. all in all, he ended up sending 3 of these things back in under a year.

Needless to say while they underwent repairs it sucked not having it play. It got to a point where I just stopped playing games on it all together in fear of my stride being broken again. That lead to me buy a PS3.

His last one MS sent is fine and to boot the lucky SOB won a Hero Edition 360 from a decal girl sweepstakes and it hasnt been any trouble.

At any rate I guess a mans gotta do what hes gotta do. I might pick one up this weekend.

LOL @ Fox01" They even pay for the chipping."

Becareful what you say, chipping has whole new meaning then shipping XD.

@slave: Bro, i have had 2 360s one from jan 06 the other may 06 cuz 1st one broke and sent it for repair then bought another one. Both had 1 RROD in thier lifetime. Imagine 2 - 2 1/2 years on, just to be afraid of something which is first of all free to fix, and 2ndly also much less prevalent in the newer systems, how many games have you missed out on ?

You missed the point, i think. I have 360 and i don't use it 'coz i am saving for gears 2. And my warranty just expired on top of that. Even if it was not, I don't want my console to break while i am playing or want to play game.

Bangladesh3708d ago

How did your 3 yr warranty "just expire" when the 360 hasn't even been on the market for 3 yrs?

slave2Dcontroller3708d ago

November 2005. Do the math, we are almost in 2009. No one here is taking cheap shots at the 360. There are some realistic issue with the hardware that concerns people. Its silly to disagree and pretend that red ring doesnt happen.

Some people get a kick out of making jokes about it but I really dont see that happening from the people who have commented in this thread.

Bangladesh3708d ago

Take a chill pill. The guys warranty is obviously not expired, and won't for another 4 monthes assuming he bought a 360 at launch.

And no one is saying that the 360 hasn't had it's share of hardware problems. At the same time, I don't believe half the bs I read on the internet regarding the rrod. Because my experience with the 360 hasn't even come close to the majority of bs I see some people claiming.

Wal-Mart is sure pushing the envelope by releasing things ahead of schedule. I really should get a 360 soon, just to have all three systems.

spirited3708d ago

So this is not Jasper there will be a new sku for that i guess

Fototherapist3708d ago

I just bought the 60gb sku last night. It does have the 175 watt power supply. I'm assuming it came with the Falcon chipset, but I really don't know how to tell. Regardless, it is a little quieter and cooler than my previous 360. You get about 45gb on the hard drive when all is said and done.
